Job Title: Patient Safety, Quality and Clinical Governance Advisor Reports to: Associate Director of Quality and Governance Location: Salary: Key Working Relationships: Main base will be in Hounslow with cross site travel to all Greenbrook Healthcare Services Equivalent to B6 / 7 c. 33,000 to 43,000 (dependent on experience) Senior Clinical Team: Associate Director of Quality and Governance, Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Regional Clinical Directors and Senior Administration Assistant to the Clinical Team Local Management teams: Service Managers, lead GP s and lead nurses. Job Summary: The Advisor post will work across the whole organisation to support patient safety, quality standards and clinical governance processes. The post holder will ensure that systems and processes are in place to support a systematic approach to reporting, investigation, analysing and managing incidents and risk throughout the organisation whilst ensuring that systems are in place to support an open and honest culture. The appointee will provide the local management teams across all our services with advice and support across the clinical governance agenda and support the management of serious or complex incidents and complaints. Although the post holder will be primarily based in the Central Support Office in Hounslow they will offer various levels of direct support working at each site based on their fluctuating requirements. 2

Key Responsibilities: Support, facilitate and co-ordinate the development of clinical governance, patient safety and quality standards cross the organisation. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with each of the local management teams (Service Managers, Lead GP s and Lead Nurses) and the senior clinical team (to include the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Regional Clinical Directors and Senior Administration Assistant to the Clinical Team) Together with the Associate Director of Quality and Clinical Governance support each service to work within governance policies. Support Services in their preparation for CQC inspections and ensure continual compliance with CQC standards. 3

Provide advice in relation to the reporting, investigation and management of incidents and identified risks. Have an organisational overview of the Datix system and ensure services are progressing complaints and incidents in line with policy and agreed timescales Promote the reporting of all incidents and near misses through nurturing a culture of continued learning and improvement Assist in the development of action plans to reduce identified risks across the organisation and facilitate shared learning Support Services to ensure robust processes for evidence collection, storing and audit trail Support the management of serious and complex incident and complaints Analyse and benchmark quality measures across the organisation Support and monitor the annual audit planner across the organisation, to include service specific and organisation analysis of themes and trends Participate and facilitate in training for all staff relevant to the role, experience and expertise Attend and support each Service s monthly clinical governance meetings Provide regular briefings to the Associate Director of Quality and Clinical Governance and the senior clinical team as required. Prepare Board reports and trend analysis papers Support the Associate Director of Quality and Clinical Governance with patient safety, quality and governance related projects. Undertake other such duties commensurate with the seniority and experience of the post. Maintain own continuing professional development and knowledge of relative legislation, standards and guidance.
