WAY FORWARD Take a look at 15 years ahead of us, what is volume of trade in 2030? Consider that among the available half a million officers of today, 150k might have left ships by 2030 by retiring just to maintain the current work force, 10 000 new officers must be trained and provided as new workforce every year to fill the gap of total work force to be created by retiring officers if seaborne trade would to expand by 70% by 2030, we need to train and produce 40k officers every year. If seaborne trade would to expand by 35% by 2030, still we need to train and produce 25k new officers every year. - Sekimizu
