It has been a great honor to have served as the branch president for these last two years. I spent last week at the GIE in Louisville, Kentucky. This is the PGMS annual event. It is something that everyone should experience. Besides meeting PGMS members from all over the country, the show is so huge you cannot see everything there is to offer. From the inside vendors to the outside area where you can test the equipment, to countless seminars and the free concerts and networking opportunities you are missing out if you never have been. I was honored to have our branch mentioned at the awards dinner. Our new president Gerald Landby along with our new Executive Director Stephanie Bruno, were in attendance at our family picnic. Gerald was so impressed by our branch coming together with our families that he took the time to mention us at the annual awards dinner. It was great to see so many members of our branch family in attendance in Louisville. One member, Jock Robertson, was there with his whole family. They don t know it yet but I see some future board members possibly even a new president in that family. We have one more meeting left for 2017 and I hope it will be a well attended one. It has been a great year of meetings for us and we will have some great sites lined up for 2018. Our meeting last month was held at Catholic University s Raymond A. DuFour Athletic Center. Our hosts were Chris Vetick and his staff who gave us a tour of the athletic facility. Our sponsors were Grounds Management and Landscaping Inc. and Fountain Head Irrigation. Thank you to Eric 1 and Doug for providing the food and beverages. Our 4 th quarter Board meeting was held October 12 th at the Chevy Chase Club. I look forward to seeing everyone on November 2 nd at Vermeer Mid Atlantic for our last meeting in 2017. I hope we will have a great turnout for this meeting. Please note that the November meeting will be an alcohol-free meeting. Feel free to join some of the members at Jailbreak Brewery (just down the street from Vermeer Mid Atlantic, LLC) before the meeting. Jailbreak Brewery is located at 9445 Washington Blvd N F, Laurel, MD 20723. PGMS DC Branch Board Elections will be held at the November Meeting! Please see the Ballot on Page 6
