The Army Officers Wives Club of the Greater Washington Area (AOWCGWA) is offering graduating high school seniors who are dependents of active duty, retired, or deceased Army personnel college scholarships for the 2011-20122012 academic year. These college scholarships are awarded based on merit. Recipients of the scholarships are chosen from an independent panel of judges who will determine both the number of scholarships and the amount awarded for each scholarship. Students can apply for these scholarships at www.aowcgwa.org and click on Scholarships and Grants. All scholarship policies, instructions and application forms are available online. SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS THE FUND The Sherry S. Hintz Scholarship Fund was created by an anonymous Montgomery County resident in memory of several women in her family who lost their lives to breast cancer. The Fund provides college scholarship awards to students who have lost a parent/guardian to breast or ovarian cancer. The Fund is administered through The Community Foundation for Montgomery County in partnership with the Mental Health Association (MHA) of Montgomery County, Maryland. AWARD AVAILABILITY AND DEADLINE Awardees of the Sherry S. Hintz Scholarship hi Fund may receive up to $20,000 per year for as many as four years of undergraduate education. All applications and attachments must be postmarked by February 25, 2011.
