APPLICANT CRITERIA The applicant must: Be a graduating senior in one of the following categories: Student who resides or attends school in Montgomery County, MD Child of an Eta Iota Sigma Chapter Sororority Member of Eta Iota Sigma Rhoer Club Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale Be accepted by an accredited college or university and enrolling for the upcoming fall semester Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident Applications are in the College and Career Center. The application and supporting documents must be postmarked by March 1, 2011

The Army Officers Wives Club of the Greater Washington Area (AOWCGWA) is offering graduating high school seniors who are dependents of active duty, retired, or deceased Army personnel college scholarships for the 2011-20122012 academic year. These college scholarships are awarded based on merit. Recipients of the scholarships are chosen from an independent panel of judges who will determine both the number of scholarships and the amount awarded for each scholarship. Students can apply for these scholarships at www.aowcgwa.org and click on Scholarships and Grants. All scholarship policies, instructions and application forms are available online. Our online website asks eligible and interested students to download the application forms, fill them out and mail them into our organization postmarked no later than 1 April 2011.

SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS THE FUND The Sherry S. Hintz Scholarship Fund was created by an anonymous Montgomery County resident in memory of several women in her family who lost their lives to breast cancer. The Fund provides college scholarship awards to students who have lost a parent/guardian to breast or ovarian cancer. The Fund is administered through The Community Foundation for Montgomery County in partnership with the Mental Health Association (MHA) of Montgomery County, Maryland. AWARD AVAILABILITY AND DEADLINE Awardees of the Sherry S. Hintz Scholarship hi Fund may receive up to $20,000 per year for as many as four years of undergraduate education. All applications and attachments must be postmarked by February 25, 2011. A one-time award of $5,000 to graduating MCPS high school seniors who need financial assistance or pursue a field of study in a technology-related career at any accredited college or university. The Polish Heritage Association of Maryland will provide several $1,500 awards to undergraduate students. Must be a high school senior or full-time student, a legal resident of MD, and have at least 2 Polish ancestors. Selection is primarily made on the basis of financial aid. The Bernie Scholarship Award Program is intended for residents of housing owned or managed by the Housing Opportunities Commission (HOC), Rockville Housing Enterprises (RHE), Edgewood properties & the Scotland Community.
