Some great ways to thank donors are to: write a thank you note stop by their home or business to give a personal thank you bake them a plate of cookies send them a photo of you and your project Put a thank you in your local newspaper. Thanking our donors is an important part of their continuing support from year to year so please take the time to thank the supporters of the 4-H Program. Record Books, Premium Checks and Trophies If you were not able to make it to your 4-H Achievement Program, please be sure to stop by your Extension Office as soon as possible to pick up your record book packets and trophies. Your checks are included with these packets and need to be cashed as soon as possible!
Martha and Don Romeo Scholarship The Nebraska Association of Fair Managers will award a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H male and one qualifying 4-H female who are graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post high school education. The two scholarships will be awarded at the NAFM annual convention held in January. Applications may be picked up at the Extension Office and are due back by December 1 st. Guidelines The Romeo Scholarship Committee will consider the following: 1. Each applicant must have exhibited his/her project in a County Fair or at the State Fair within the last four years. 2. Each applicant must hold a 2.5 high school grade point average (based on a 4.0 system). Each applicant must also maintain a 2.5 grade point average for the first semester in college and carry at least 12 credit hours. 3. Each applicant must agree to apply the scholarship funds for tuition or fees at a two or four year college or its equivalent, to be judged by the committee. 4. Each applicant must have demonstrated support for his/her school and community. 5. Each applicant must exhibit during the application process a desire to achieve the goals of which he/she is capable. 6. Financial need will not be considered in the selection process. Please contact the Extension Office to have the official guideline emailed to you. All applications are due to the Extension Office by December 1st. National Western Stock Show Catch-A-Calf Program The National Western Stock Show Catch-A-Calf Program is designed to promote youth development and understanding of the cattle industry. Youth who choose to participate in the contest may have a range of experiences raising, feeding and showing beef cattle, all are encouraged to apply. To apply applicants must be between the ages of 12 and 18 as of December 31, 2015 and be enrolled in 4-H at the time of application. Successful catchers must have adequate facilities available to house their steer as they are responsible for the care, feeding, and handling of their animal. The applications to participate in this year s Catch-a-Calf program at the NWSS are now available on line at http:// nationalwestern.com/livestock-shows/catch-a-calf-contest/. Applications must be postmarked by December 1!

It was a close race, the second place t-shirt was only 3 votes behind! Will s family will all receive free t-shirts as the prize for the contest.
