A Pell Grant is a free money award Available for undergraduate students Must not have a bachelor s or professional degree Must be a U.S. Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen Financial eligibility is determined through the FAFSA based on family income and demographic information
A Cal Grant is a free money award Offered by the State of California through the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) Eligibility is determined through CSAC using either the FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application and your GPA You can check your eligibility online at www.csac.ca.gov Click on Web Grants
FSEOG is a free money award Priority is given to students with the most financial need who also receive a Pell Grant Eligible students must enroll in 12 units Not every eligible student will be able to receive an FSEOG due to limited funding Eligible students at each school are awarded firstcome first-served until the funds run out
On campus employment Students are paid per hour Requirements to qualify: Must be eligible for Financial Aid Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units There is a separate application for this in the Financial Aid Office
This award is a loan that must be paid back Requirements to qualify: Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units Repayment begins: After graduation When enrollment drops below 6 units To request a Direct Loan: Students must first sign up for a Direct Loan Workshop at the Financial Aid Office

The processing time for a disbursement is approximately 7 to 10 business days from the date it is posted on the financial aid portal screen The Pell Grant, FSEOG, and Cal Grant come in two disbursements per semester The first disbursement occurs during the first week of each semester The second disbursement comes approximately 8 weeks after the first disbursement. NOTE: If enrolled in a late start course, the student will be disbursed after the course begins
The Financial Aid Freeze Date takes a "snapshot" of your enrollment, freezing your units in place for the semester If you drop courses on or before the Freeze Date and have already received a disbursement: This is called an award overpayment You will have to pay back some of the money you received because you are not taking the classes Classes added or dropped after the Freeze Date will not change your eligibility for awards Added classes will not increase your award amount Dropped classes will not decrease your award amount Dropping all your courses WILL cause an overpayment

The North Orange Card is where your financial aid funds will be deposited once your financial aid file is processed. The North Orange Card will be mailed after you register for classes and have completed your financial aid file Cards are mailed to the student s address on record with Admissions and Records Make sure that your current address is on file with the Admissions and Records Office Current students who had aid in the past will continue to use their existing North Orange Card
Students will be able to use their North Orange card without being charged the ATM fee at the Schools First ATM on Campus Located by the Business building next to the parking permit machines There are additional usable ATMs at the Anaheim and Fullerton campuses
