CAREER PATHWAYS IN HEALTH SCIENCES Health Sciences are divided into five categories, or pathways. Occupations are grouped by the common knowledge and similar skill sets required within each career pathway. 1. Biotechnology, Research & Development 2. Therapeutic Services 3. Diagnostic Services 4. Health Informatics 5. Support Services

Biotechnology Research & Development Careers in this pathway involve bioscience research and development as it applies to human health. These scientists may study diseases to discover new treatments or invent medical devices used to assist patients.

Biotechnology Research and Development Such careers require a solid foundation in high school sciences biology, chemistry, math, and computer science. An Associate s, Bachelor s, or Master s degree is also usually necessary and in most cases a state license is required. Can you guess which occupations would fit under this pathway?
