The University Founded in 1893, Southern Connecticut State University is in the midst of a $230 million building program. ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM Services Available: A certified athletic trainer and athletic training students will be present at all home contests. An AED will be available at all home contests. The Athletic Training Room will be open two hours before and one-half hour after all events. The following items will be provided on your bench: water cups ice ice bags The following emergency items are available on loan if necessary: crutches immobilizers splints The following modalities are available to your athletes (in the Athletic Training Room only): ice hydrocollator packs e-stim ultrasound hot and cold whirlpools Athletes traveling without an ATC must present a letter from a physician or ATC before receiving treatment. SCSU staff will gladly provide any taping and treatments (Please call ahead and provide your own supplies) Additional Items of Note: A team physician and ambulance are present at all home football games. Reciprocal ATC coverage is asked for those teams not traveling with a ATC. Our teams travel with their own medical kit. Facilities Enclosed is a map of the SCSU campus, including all athletic facilities. The athletic training room inside Moore Field House is located inside of the basketball arena on the first floor of the facility (Room #115). The athletic training room inside Pelz Gymnasium is on the first floor of the facility. It is located on the south side, near the exit closest to the softball field. For swimming and diving, locker rooms are located in the Hutchinson Natatorium on the first floor adjacent to the pool office. For volleyball and softball games, visiting team dressing rooms are located inside Pelz Gymnasium. If your team is traveling without a certified athletic trainer, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. PARKING Practice and gameday parking is located in close proximity to all athletic facilities. For individuals attending events at Moore Field House, Jess Dow Field or Hutchinson Natatorium, there is ample parking in the parking garage located on Lot 7, adjacent to the Field House.
