CCS Fundraising Study In April 2012, we retained CCS Fundraising to conduct an assessment of our fundraising program, including staffing, fundraising performance and potential. Findings: There is very strong leadership at the university. President Genshaft is universally admired. USF possesses a high quality staff that needs to establish stretch goals working with college leadership to provide additional focused strategies to increase fundraising results. Strong metrics are in place to measure performance, but CCS cautioned that we not forget personal relationships and noted the need to balance between the art and science of philanthropy. More strategic prospect identification and cultivation will strengthen the fundraising program. We recently created a new position focused on strategic prospect management to help the development staff identify and manage the process of cultivating new major gift prospects. 12
CCS Fundraising Study (continued) Great opportunity for growth in fundraising support by investing in the top producing units, which include USF Health, USF Athletics, the College of Business, the College of Engineering, Public Broadcasting and the College of Arts and Sciences. Significant potential for growth exists in Planned Giving and alumni giving, given the number and age of our graduates. To maximize resources we continue to carefully review staffing for duplication in roles and responsibilities and where appropriate realign responsibilities. 13
Fundraising is a Team Sport Moving from a transactional to a relationship fundraising model Developing lifelong relationship with our donors Creating teams of staff and volunteers to cultivate these relationships Increased stewardship efforts Goal Planning for the future involves the President, Provost, Deans and other key constituencies New roles at USF Foundation focus on: Prospect Strategy Mentoring Development Officers to ensure best practices in fundraising are achieved 14

Goal One - Student Success Scholarships & Fellowships USF Overall Total raised through April 2013 is $74.2M $6.5M raised for First Generation Scholarships The USF Foundation awards over $5 million in scholarships each year to over 2,500 students. Study-abroad scholarships are now supported by an endowment in excess of $1.45M which provides students the opportunity to obtain a global experience in perpetuity. The many new athletic facilities supported by fundraising efforts have allowed our student-athletes to be all that they can be. 18
Goal Two Research and Innovation USF Unstoppable Campaign Private Research Grants $28.5M Supporting Research efforts in areas such as: Health Engineering Education Endowed Chairs & Professorships - $34.6M 19
Goal Three - Partnerships Public and Private The generosity of our donors, who have given private support, helps USF ensure that we have an environment rich in research, teaching, learning and discovery. Agilent Technologies provided software valued in excess of $92M to support students in the College of Engineering. Agilent s support provides an advantage to our students by allowing them to learn to use industry-leading software while still in school. Our partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning has made the Sports and Entertainment Management Program possible - benefitting graduate students who will become the future leaders of the sports management field. The Lightning have provided financial support, but also provide access to their executives for real-world learning, classroom space at their facility and paid internships for many of the students. 20
Goal Four Economic Base NACUBO rankings USF Foundation Endowment performance is consistently in the top tier across the country: #1 among all Florida institutions last year in 1-year, 3-year and 10-year investment returns. #1 among aspirational peer group last year (Illinois, Alabama, UC Irvine, Pittsburgh and UC San Diego among others) Fiscal management The endowment provides over $15M annually to support USF faculty, students and programs. The endowment along with other gifts for current operations provides over $60M in annual support to USF. Cost to raise a dollar remains low at 17 cents per dollar for the length of the Unstoppable Campaign. 21
