The district now has five "Proficient" schools, one school under the "Distinguished" classification and two schools labeled as "High Progress." --In 2014, CCPS was recognized as one of the first school districts to raise the compulsory school attendance age in Kentucky from 16 to 18. --For the 2015-16 school year, the district had 9 students named Governor Scholars and 34 students who scored a 28 greater on the ACT. --Since 2012, the district has received more than $6.5 million in grants.
