NATIONAL TURKEY FEDERATION A Guide to the NTF Mission and Member Experience
The mission of the National Turkey Federation is to be the national advocate for all segments of the turkey industry and to provide services that enhance our members ability to provide consumers worldwide with high quality, nutritious products. For nearly 75 years, NTF has protected and advocated for the turkey industry representing the association s interests before Congress, the federal government and the White House. Trends and challenges in the public, legislative, regulatory and media arenas impact the entire turkey industry and NTF helps members meet these challenges and advance their business goals. Over 300 member companies representing almost 100 percent of the turkey industry including processors, growers, distributors and suppliers comprise NTF s membership.
Protect NTF protects your industry. NTF s legislative and regulatory affairs team represents the turkey industry on Capitol Hill and at government agencies where we are highly regarded and have successfully managed challenges relating to food safety, environmental issues, worker safety, immigration policy, renewable fuels, and animal welfare. TURPAC, NTF s political action committee, is one of the largest and most active PACs within the meat and poultry sector and ensures the turkey industry stays visible to elected officials. Crisis management consulting is a key benefit to our members. If the time comes that you need our skills, we are ready to help.
Promote and Educate NTF helps grow the industry. NTF educates the general public and the foodservice community about the versatility and nutritious profile of turkey and about the scientific methods the industry uses to produce a safe, wh0lesome product. Through traditional and social media outlets, NTF has gained a strong and responsive following by sharing industry news, as well as new recipes and cooking tips, allowing us to connect and promote turkey to all audiences. Yearly, NTF presents the Turkey on the Menu (T.O.M.) Award to encourage and reward foodservice operations for their year-round turkey dishes on their menus, adding to the rising trend of turkey options in restaurants. NTF and our members promote the industry with the annual Leadership Conference in Washington D.C., where members have the chance to inform government officials about real issues the industry faces.
Partnership NTF helps give the industry a unified message. NTF fosters working relationships among its members by conducting our Annual Convention, the largest gathering of industry representatives in the world, staging educational workshops and networking. Through the process of a mentor program, new members are given the opportunity to make the most of the Annual Convention, meetings, and their membership.
