Audience asked lots of questions. Topic of discussion were various opportunities within a local television newsroom, what it takes to obtain those positions, the expectations, pay, advancement requirements, etc. KFOR Reporter/Anchor spoke to a group of students at Francis Tuttle Vo Tech about various opportunities within a local television newsroom, what it takes to obtain those positions, the expectations, pay, advancement requirements, etc. Student Job Fair at OAB KFOR Producer conducted a television tour and group discussion with Broadcasting Students from OCCC (Oklahoma City Community College). Students are studying "Producing" and wanted to see first hand what a Producer does. Students watched our newscasts live from the studio and from the control room. KFOR AR Coordinator hosted a group of 5th graders from Oklahoma Christian Academy. The group toured the station and discussed the educational path to obtain a position in Broadcast ews. RECRUITMET IITIATIVES Date // 9// Type of Recruitment Initiative (Menu Selection) sponsored by community groups Brief Description Of Activity KFOR Managing Editor hosted the Tinker Air Force Base and conducted a tour of the station. Discussions of various positions at the station and what each department contributes to get the newscasts on the air and the requirements for becoming a Producer, Reporter, and Anchor. KFOR Managing Editor participated in an "Advisory Board Discussion" as part of "Mass Communication Week" at the University of Oklahoma. During the day, he met with board members, faculty and students to discuss the current state of broadcasting and where the industry was heading. He also discussed current job openings and the requirements for obtaining those positions.
