Looking for further funding to support your study? The Funding Information Service offers the BreakOut website www.fis.org.nz Please note that BreakOut is a subscriber service; checking it from a private computer can cost a lot! We strongly recommend that you use a University of Waikato computer, as we pay a blanket subscription. If you don't have access to a University computer, access BreakOut from a site that already pays a subscription, e.g. a public library. Just log on and click on Start Break Out, and start answering the questions. Your answers will shorten the list to those awards you might be eligible for (instead of all of the thousands on this amazing web-site!). International students will find it particularly helpful that, under the section This is also relevant to me, they can filter the list to show awards open to international students. This month s Handy Hint Ask those people who know you very well to check your scholarship application documents. As well as proofreading your documents, they ll be well place to notice if you ve neglected to mention, or failed to highlight, details that might help you win an award. The Useful Links & Advice section of our website www.waikato.ac.nz/scholarships features many more handy hints on such topics as Searching for Scholarships, Applying for Scholarships, References, and Scholarship Interviews. 3
