Graduate Application 2013 General Mills Internship Application Feeding Tomorrow, The Foundation of the Institute of Food Technologists, is a charitable organization that values the importance of food science education. Feeding Tomorrow has partnered with General Mills to recognize the exceptional leadership and scholastic achievements of two graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in food science. General Mills will award two graduate students a $5,000 scholarship and a twelve week paid internship in quality assurance or research and development for the summer of 2013. Subsidized housing will also be available to the internship recipients. Applications must be submitted to the Feeding Tomorrow office by February 4 th, 2013. All application materials, except for transcripts, must be emailed to generalmillsscholar@ift.org Postal-mailed applications will NOT be accepted. The only item you may submit by postal mail is a transcript. Unsolicited materials will disqualify the applicant. Please include the following documents with your application: 1. One recommendation letter from a teacher, employer, or mentor emailed directly from the recommender to generalmillsscholar@ift.org with the subject line reading Applicant s Name: Recommendation. 2. An academic transcript that includes a cumulative summary of the student s GPA emailed to generalmillsscholar@ift.org. First year graduate students must submit their undergraduate transcript. Applicants may mail a transcript ONLY. See address at the end of application. 3. This application, typed in English, must be submitted electronically in a PDF to generalmillsscholar@ift.org. The subject line of the application submission email must contain the applicant s full name. 4. A copy of your Resume or CV emailed as an attachment to your scholarship application Please verify your eligibility requirements by marking an x in the box: Applicant must be a full-time graduate student enrolled in a Master s or PhD food science program with an interest in Research and Development and/or Quality and Assurance Applicant must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA in food science Applicant must have or obtain a F-1 visa if he or she is an international student Applicant must join or renew membership to the IFT Student Association by June 1, 2013 Internship interview process: General Mills recruiters will conduct phone interviews for top candidates in mid-february 2013 General Mills recruiters will conduct video interviews for top candidates in late February or early March 2013 Final two candidates will be notified with an acceptance letter by early May 2013 Candidates will receive scholarship money by May 31, 2013 General Mills (12) week internship will begin in June 2013 in Minneapolis, MN 1
