KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Jay Wilkinson has been a well-regarded and well-received public speaker for many years. Now, Jay brings the sizable added value of capturing the essence, insight and legacy of his famous father, legendary college football coach Bud Wilkinson. Through a collection of intimate and revealing letters written from father to son, during the son s formative college years, Jay unlocks and presents, for the first time anywhere, the dynamic of his father s extraordinary success and transformational outlook on life and leadership. Jay believes the key to any successful organization lies in the talents of its people and how those talents are managed, encouraged and enhanced. He shares tried-and-proven leadership principles gleaned from his 35-year career as a successful business leader and CEO. Kathryn Roby is a Consulting Director for Home Health Care at Qualidigm. Ms. Roby specializes in teaching and educating nurses, focusing on improving home health provider clinical outcomes and reducing acute care hospitalizations for Connecticut home care providers. To achieve these goals, she conducts on-site audits of home health care agencies, analyzes workflow processes, and makes recommendations for efficient processes resulting in better outcomes for patients. She also functions as a quality manager for home health care providers with limited staff, reviewing records, recording information, and completing required state and federal quality audits. Ms. Roby has also spearheaded the development of Qualiance, a first-of-its-kind software tool that enables home health agencies to automate their audit and reporting requirements in a convenient, online format. Kathryn holds an M.S. in Health Care Administration from the Hartford Graduate Center, an M.Ed. from St. Joseph s College, and a B.S.N. from the University of Connecticut. She is a Certified Home and Hospice Care Executive (National Association for Home Care) and a Certified Trainer for Integrated Chronic Care Management. SPEAKER BIOS Mark P. Sharp, CPA, BKD, LLP Mark is a Partner with BKD s National Health Care Group and serves as the firm-wide leader of BKD s Center of Excellence for Home Care and Hospice Services. He has more than 20 years of experience assisting home care and hospice providers with strategic planning, financial management, audits, accounting, cost reports, operating budgets, agency start-up and mergers and acquisitions. As a nationally recognized home care consultant, Mark serves on the Home Care and Hospice Financial Managers Association s Advisory Board, and chairs its Payment and Reimbursement Committee. He has authored many industry articles and is regularly quoted in industry periodicals such as Eli s Home Care Week, Hospital Home Health, and Home Health Line. Bill Dombi, J.D., Vice President for Law, National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) He specializes in legal, legislative, and regulatory advocacy on behalf of patients and providers of home health and hospice care. With over 30 years of experience in health care law and policy, Bill Dombi has been involved in virtually all legislative and regulatory efforts affecting home care and hospice since 1975. With litigation, Dombi was lead counsel in the landmark lawsuit that reformed the Medicare home health services benefit, challenges to HMO home care cutbacks for high-tech home care patients, lawsuits against Medicaid programs for inadequate payment rates, a nationwide class action against then-hcfa for its failure to enforce the federal HMO Act, and litigation directed against the Interim Payment System for the Medicare home health benefit. He is the Editor and lead author of Home Care & Hospice Law: A Handbook for Executives, the only comprehensive legal treatise on the topic.
