ADMINISTRATORS OF NURSING EDUCATION OF WISCONSIN ARTICLE I ANEW Section 2 Section 3 Section 4 Section 5 Section 7 Name ANEW (Administrators of Nursing Education of Wisconsin) Mission and Vision The Administrators of Nursing Education of Wisconsin (ANEW) moves nursing education forward and transforms nursing education through integrated educational pathways that prepare the nursing workforce to provide quality health care. Through collaboration and leadership, ANEW speaks for the future of nursing education and the nursing profession. ANEW Membership Membership in ANEW shall be chief administrators of all Wisconsin based nursing education programs. Member Schools: a. Maintain national accreditation (ACEN or CCNE) b. Physical presence of nursing program in state of Wisconsin Voting a. One vote per member institution Membership Dues a. All member institutions pay dues to ANEW b. Dues shall be established at the spring biannual meeting by vote of the majority of the members present and voting. c. Annual dues shall be due in September of each year. d. Dues change shall become effective in September of the year in which the change was voted. Fiscal Year The Fiscal Year of ANEW shall be from July 1 through June 30.

ARTICLE II ANEW EXECUTIVE BOARD Section 2 Section 3 Section 4 Executive Board a. Membership is delineated provisionally by regions. (Please see appendix A and B for potential regional membership boundaries. Southeast Region: Southwest Region: Northeast Region: Northwest Region: b. The executive board shall include two members from each region as indicated in d and e below. c. Each region will elect a chair. d. The Regional Chair is a member of the executive board. e. Additionally, each region elects a regional member at large to serve on the executive board. f. The regional chair and member at large should represent an Associate and Bachelor degree program. Officers of the Executive Board a. Officers of ANEW shall be President, President Elect, Secretary and a Standing Treasurer. b. The past president will serve a 1 year ex officio term Election of Officers a. Officers are elected by the executive board with the exception of the Standing Treasurer who is appointed by the Board. b. Open positions are announced at spring meeting. c. Officers assume office at the beginning of the new fiscal year (July). d. Regional Chair and member at large are elected annually in the spring (by each region membership). e. Should an officer resign prior to completion of term a replacement is elected by the executive board to complete the original term. The person serving as the replacement may be subsequently elected for a full term. f. If a regional chair/member at large is elected to a position of officer, a new representative from the region is selected to fill the chair/member at large term. Term of office a. President 1 year b. President Elect 1 year followed by 1 year as President c. Secretary 2 year d. Treasurer standing

e. Regional Chairs and members at large will serve 2 year staggering terms Section 5 Section 6 Section 7 Section 8 Section 9 President The President shall serve as the chief executive officer of ANEW, preside at all meetings, and perform such duties as prescribed by these Bylaws. President-elect a. Serves in the absence of the President. Secretary a. Issue call to meetings and distribute agenda a minimum of one week prior to meetings. b. Distribute copies of minutes of meetings to the membership. c. Take the minutes and maintain the records of the business transacted at all meetings of ANEW. Treasurer a. Oversees the collection of dues and other monies of ANEW. b. Assure that the monies of ANEW are placed in a bank account established for that purpose; shall authorize expenditures of ANEW, and shall make regular financial reports to the membership of ANEW. c. Maintain current email distribution list in cooperation with Dean s Office, UW Milwaukee. Ex Officio Ex Officio is the immediate past president of the executive board and does not have to serve as a regional chair or member at large. Mentors new officers and assists as needed. ARTICLE III MEETINGS OF ANEW Section 2 Meetings of the executive board a. The executive committee will meet prior to the ANEW meeting to develop the agenda b. Agendas will be circulated 1 week prior to the biannual meeting. c. The executive board will meet bimonthly d. Executive board will assign task force(s) as needed e. Executive board will review Appendix A (member colleges) annually. f. Executive board will review Bylaws every other year (odd years). Meetings of the general membership a. ANEW shall hold 2 biannual meetings one in the fall and one in spring. Recommend the 1 st Wednesday of April and October. b. One-third (1/3) of the general membership of ANEW shall constitute a quorum.

Section 3 Regional meetings a. The Regional Chairs will be responsible for determining, along with regional members, meetings and task groups to address regional issues b. Regional chairs are responsible for reporting information to and from the executive board and ANEW bi annual meetings c. Chief administrators may designate additional representatives to participate in regional meetings d. There should be a minimum of one regional meeting per year. Section 4 Roles and responsibilities of the regional meetings a. Assure regional members are participating in regional health care alliance work groups and/or other workforce development groups to represent the voice of nursing education. b. Facilitate mentorship of new nursing education administrators in the regional. c. Foster collaboration among regional members on nursing issues and needs to improve nursing education in the region and in the state ARTICLE IV CHANGE IN BYLAWS Section 2 These Bylaws may be amended at any general membership meeting by a simple majority vote of those present and voting provided one month previous notice has been given to the membership. These Bylaws may be amended by a 2/3 majority vote of those present and at a Biannual Meeting if no previous notice has been given. ARTICLE 5 MENTORING OF NEW ADMINISTRATORS New members are oriented to the organization by the president and regional chair. APPENDIX A ANEW COLLEGE MEMBERSHIP BY REGION Southeast Region: 1.
