About This Publication Nature and Purpose The Transfer Credit Practices of Designated Educational Institutions (published through 1977 under its former title Report of Credit Given by Educational Institutions) reports the transfer acceptance practices of one major institution in each state regarding credit awarded by other colleges and universities in that state. These acceptance practices may differ from those of other institutions in that same state. Each institution applies its own credit evaluation policies in determining acceptability and applicability of courses. Transfer Credit Practices is published to facilitate student mobility among institutions and to reduce the problems of students who attend more than one institution in the pursuit of an associate, baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate degree. It is not the report of an accrediting agency. It is a voluntary exchange of information regarding the practices of designated institutions for accepting transfer credit toward an associate, baccalaureate, or post-baccalaureate degree. The information contained herein is current as of printing and is subject to change. For the most current information, please refer to http://tcp.aacrao.org. Institutions Listed AACRAO does not provide credit practice information on institutions that request exclusion from Transfer Credit Practices. Therefore, an exclusion of any institution s credit practice from a state s listing should not be considered a judgment of its quality nor imply unacceptability of its credit. TCP Online AACRAO has implemented an online system for the reporting of transfer credit practices. TCP Online contains updated information from Reporting Officers concerning their treatment of transfer credit from selected institutions. In addition, it allows for the participation of more than one Reporting Officer for each state, thus providing information on transfer credit practices from a spectrum of institution types. Please visit TCP Online at http://tcp.aacrao.org for the most up-to-date credit practice information. About This Publication i
How To Contribute If you are interested in becoming an AACRAO TCP Reporting Officer, or to submit recommendations for colleagues involved in transfer credit at other two-year, four-year, public and/or private universities, please contact us at tcp@aacrao.org. Usage The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers emphasizes that Transfer Credit Practices is a voluntary exchange of information among member institutions of the Association regarding acceptance of credit. No implication is intended that the practices of the reporting institutions must be followed by other institutions. Each institution should determine its own policy for acceptance of credit. For further information and recommendations regarding acceptance of credit the reader is referred to Appendix A, Joint Statement on the Transfer and Award of Credit, developed by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the American Council on Education (ACE), and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and Appendix B, Additional Comments for the Transcript Evaluator. The information contained herein is current as of printing and is subject to change. For the most current information, please refer to http://tcp.aacrao.org. ii About This Publication
