CONFERENCE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK s BASKETBALL MAC COMMONWEALTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK RYAN KELLEY (Arcadia / Sr. / G / Mt. Arlington, N.J.) led the Knights to a 2-0 week in conference action while averaging 18.5 points, five assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Kelley shot 57 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the arc for the week. Kelley opened the week with a game-high 18 points with five rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 72-67 win over Messiah. The senior then recorded 19 points with four rebounds, six assists and one steal in a 76-64 win at Stevenson. In the win he shots 7-of-10 (70%) from the field and 5-of-8 from behind the arc (63%). MAC FREEDOM PLAYER OF THE WEEK SHAQUAN TURK (Eastern / Sr. / F / Philadelphia, Pa.) repeats as conference player of the week. Turk was perfect in the first game of the week. The senior went 8-for-8 from the field, including 3-for-3 from behind the arc, and was also 4-for-4 from the charity stripe for 23 points in a 116-99 win at Rowan. Turk also had five rebounds, three blocks, three assists and two steals. The Eagles snapped Rowan s winning-streak at six games. Turk then scored 18 points with six rebounds, two assists and a steal in an 81-65 win at Ursinus. He finished the week averaging 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and two blocks. WOMEN S BASKETBALL MAC COMMONWEALTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK ALYSHA LOFTON (Albright / Jr. / G-F / Warrington, Pa.) led No. 20 Albright to a pair of wins shooting 58 percent (11-of-19) from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc, while averaging a double-double with 15.5 points and 14 rebounds per game. Loton opened the week with 16 points, 16 rebounds and three assists in a 78-73 conference win over Widener. The junior then tallied 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while adding 12 rebounds, five steals, three assists and a block in a 79-69 win over Moravian. MAC FREEDOM PLAYER OF THE WEEK ALYSSA MCDONOUGH (FDU-Florham / Sr. / G-F / Parlin, N.J.) led the Devils to a pair of non-conference victories. In a 70-57 road win at Rutgers- Newark, McDonough totaled 21 points on 8-of-17 (47%) shooting and added 16 rebounds (all defensive) for a double-double. The senior also had three steals and three assists in the win. McDonough then recorded another double-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and a steal in a 62-49 win over neighboring rival Drew. The senior recorded 28 defensive rebounds over two games. s & s SWIMMING MAC s SWIMMER OF THE WEEK TOM SCOTT (Misericordia / Sr. / Huntingdon Station, N.Y.) led Misericordia to a 143-114 win over conference foe King s while setting four pool records in three individual events and one relay event. Scott won the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.74), 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.71) and the 200-yard IM (2:01.21). The senior was also a member of the 400-yard medley relay winning team with a time of 3:40.64. All four times are ranked in the top-5 in the conference. MAC s SWIMMER OF THE WEEK GRACE NIKOLSKI (Misericordia / Fr. / Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) earns her third conference weekly award of the season. Nikolski led the Cougars to a 133-119 win over conference opponent King s while setting four pool records in three individual events and one relay event. The freshman won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.03), 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.19) and the 200-yard IM (2:18.03). She was also a member of the 400-yard medley relay winning team with a time of 4:14.44. All four times are ranked in the top-6 in the conference. WRESTLING MAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK TRAVIS OGDEN (Lycoming / Fr. / Clearfield, Pa.) clinched the 24-16 win over Gettysburg with a first-period win in the 197 lbs. match. Ogden had built a 12-1 lead in the first period before slamming down Brand Gallagher and quickly turning it into his seventh pin of the season. The freshman is now 14-6 this season. 1
CONFERENCE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK s INDOOR Track & FIELD MAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK TERRELL BOGGANS (Widener / Fr. / Glassboro, N.J.) factored into three first-place performances in his collegiate debut at Haverford on Thursday. Individually, Boggans won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.31 seconds and then the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.16 seconds. The freshman closed out the meet by anchoring the victorious 4x200-meter relay team that clocked in at 1:34.60. MAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK EVAN CROUCH (Widener / Jr. / Philadelphia, Pa.) opened the season with a first-place finish in the shot put at the Haverford Holiday Meet. Crouch recorded a person-best mark of 13.63 meters (44-8.75 ). The junior has the top mark in the conference so far this season WOMEN S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD MAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK MEgAN KITCHIN (Widener / Fr. / Media, Pa.) had an impressive collegiate debut at the Haverford Holiday Meet with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash and a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash.
