WHAT IS WORLD CHANGERS? World Changers is a coed mission experience for youth and adults. It combines free labor with local agencies to make a difference in a community. WORLD CHANGERS HISTORY From the inception of World Changers in the summer of 1990 in Briceville, Tennessee, through the summer of 2005, more than 190,000 students have blessed the lives of others while receiving an even greater blessing themselves. With the support of caring adults, these students have dramatically altered the living conditions of more than 8,800 homes in the past nine years alone. While toil and sweat are the order of the day, in 2005 World Changers gave more than $215,000 toward NAMB ministries. Improved living conditions and offerings are tangible results of benevolent people, but a more lasting reminder is that more than 1,500 people made decisions for Jesus Christ this past summer. As you can see, World Changers is moving onward and upward, and with your continued help, the sky is the limit for our organization. Our theme for the summer of 2006 is @Work as we look at a lifetime commitment to service. The challenge is for participants to recognize that God can use them in a short-term project and also in a lifestyle of missions and ministry beyond this week. We pray that our work at each site gives us a clearer view of Jesus. WHAT IS A CREW CHIEF? A Crew Chief is an adult volunteer, age 21 years or older, who brings construction skill and experience to a World Changers project. A Crew Chief supervises a crew of participants in completing a series of tasks on one or more work sites at a project. WHAT IS A SUPERVISOR? A Construction Supervisor is an adult volunteer, age 21 years or older, who assists the Construction Coordinator in work site selection and oversees the actual work of five work sites during a project. The Construction Coordinator chooses Supervisors. Supervisors will be reimbursed for on-site mileage incurred during the project week. WHAT IS A RUNNER? A runner assists the Construction Coordinator by transporting supplies from the materials supplier to the work sites and transporting equipment to job sites as needed. The runners are enlisted by the Construction Coordinator. Runners are usually local volunteers who have vehicles which can haul construction materials. They are reimbursed for on-site mileage incurred during the project week. WHAT EXPENSES WILL WORLD CHANGERS COVER? Crew Chiefs and Supervisors traveling to a project within their home state or Baptist State Convention will be reimbursed for meals and mileage. Those traveling to a project outside of their home state will be reimbursed for meals and mileage up to $150 per project. Crew Chiefs and Supervisors traveling with their church will not be reimbursed for travel. Registration fees for Crew Chiefs and Supervisors will be waived (refunded). For any Crew Chief or Supervisor not coming with a church and wanting to bring their spouse (as a non-participant), the registration fee for the spouse is reduced to $60. Crew Chiefs and Supervisors who use their personal vehicle during the week while traveling to and from the project site will be reimbursed for their mileage. HOW DO YOU APPLY? You must complete the application in this brochure and return it to the Construction Coordinator for the project of your choice. If you need names and addresses for Construction Coordinators or if you have any questions or need further information, please contact the World Changers National Office at 1-800 462-8657, ext 6470, or our Web site: worldchangers..studentz.com Keep this sheet for your information!
