The summer issue of VETERANS HEALTH MATTERS, VISN 8 s quarterly wellness magazine for Veterans, is now in the main hospital and clinics system-wide. It s also available on-line. Please pick up an issue and take it home. You can also read it online. English version: http://www.visn8.va.gov/visn8/images/summer2015english.pdf Bay Pines Update: The Scheduling Pilot Program is supposed to continue. The program where you used to receive reminder cards to make an appointment will no longer be used. Now, when you leave an appointment, you should receive a slip with your next scheduled appointment (if within 390 days). Audiology and Optometry direct scheduling pilot program has ended. The VA will be reviewing the program results to make further recommendations. I have not received official word but I assume you go back to going through your primary for future appointments. If I hear differently I will let you know. Bay Pines News NEW Enhancement to the VetLink Kiosk System - Health Care Access Questionnaire To increase awareness of Veterans satisfaction to health care access, the National Leadership Council s Veteran Experience Committee (VEC) will utilize the VetLink kiosk system as a short term solution for capturing real-time feedback. -- After the Veteran has completed all check-in requirements at the kiosk, a one page questionnaire will be displayed to the Veteran as follows: "How satisfied are you that you got today s appointment when you wanted it?" Completely Satisfied; Satisfied; Neutral; Dissatisfied; Completely Dissatisfied Target date for system-wide activation of the questionnaire is the week of August 17, 2015. Data collected from the questionnaire will be used to improve the Veteran experience. An educational document with screen shots of the check-in process and questionnaire can be accessed by clicking here. Frank Lafferty Junior Vice Commander BUDDY POPPY Drive: A volunteer sheet has been posted on the Post Activities and Announcements board in the Canteen. The event will take place the weekend before Veterans Day which falls on a Wednesday. The poppy drive will be held on Saturday November 7 and Sunday November 8. We will have the same locations as last year (Winn Dixie and Walmart). Looking for volunteers for the 10:00 AM-12: 00 PM slots and the 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM slots. Hello Members, I would like to thank the auxiliary for all your support. As a TEAM, we will have a great year. I am hoping to see more members coming to the meetings and getting involved as we begin accepting male members to the auxiliary. There will be nominations and elections at our September meeting for Chaplain & Trustee. Our Marathon Bingo is scheduled for October 18. Please come and join us. It is an honor to serve our Veterans.
