ABOUT THE EVENT Over the past 3 years we have managed to build the REFSA conference into one of the most important events in the energy sector. Quality of content our content is in line with issues that the industry wants to discuss and delegates walk away from our conference better informed Quality of attendees our conference attactracts delegates that are senior key decision makers in both the private and public sector Quality speakers our speakers include key policy makers as well as key industry players Shaping the sector we pride ourselves in the fact that REFSA is more than a talk shop but a platform where people can shape the sector
Key successes of REFSA 2015 For the first time we managed to cover the full spectrum of the energy sector ranging from oil and gas, coal base load, gas to power, cogeneration and renewable energy. We managed to get participation from key government departments and state owned entities including: the Department of Energy, National Treasury, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Environmental Affairs, Eskom,Petrosa, NECSA,PIC,IDC and DBSA. We were requested by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange( JSE ) to put together a think tank to investigate avenues in which the JSE could begin to participate in funding the energy sector as a result of this think tank the JSE team is now engaging the Department of Energy to ensure that it can create products that can service the energy sector We continued with our women in energy outreach programme in which we mentor women looking for opportunities in the sector and provide them with a platform to market themselves at REFSA, this year s receipient was a black female CA who has managed to obtain interview with relevant financial institutions.
