It is recommended that aspiring student athletes of the University of Worcester read through the information carefully before submitting an application. Should you wish to apply for a scholarship we will require further information from you, including personal details, video footage of you performing/competing, an overview of your financial outgoings directly associated with high performance sport and a supporting letter from your current lifestyle advisor or performance director/coach. Silver Scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would need to feature in the current top 50 England Badminton National rankings, or an equivalent-standard country. Bronze Scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would need to feature in the current top 100 England Badminton National rankings, or an equivalent-standard country. Scholarships at Worcester (Men s) Gold scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would need to represent England or an equivalent standard country and senior national team level or have Men s British League (BBL) playing experience, or a league of an equivalent standard. Regional level and U18 preliminary squad may also be considered subject to video footage review.

6 7 Netball Scholarships at Worcester Gold Scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would need to represent England, or an equivalent-standard country at senior squad level. Silver Scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would need to represent England, or an equivalent-standard country at U21 or U19 national team level, or have recent Super league playing experience. Bronze Scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would need to have regular premier league 1 playing experience or regular representation in the U19 National Performance League (NPL). Rowing Scholarships at Worcester Gold Scholarship (up to 2000) Applicants would need to represent GB or an equivalent standard at senior or U23 level. Silver Scholarship (up to 1000) - Applicants would need to represent GB or an equivalent standard at junior (U18) level (Junior World Championships or Coupe de la Jeunesse). Bronze Scholarship (up to 500) - Applicants would need to have achieved one of the following; a gold medal at the National Schools Regatta, a win at Henley Royal or Henley Women s Regatta or working within an identified talent ID scheme e.g. Start programme. Scholarships at Worcester (Men s) Gold scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would have current professional football experience at league 2 level or higher or within one year finished a YTS contract with a professional club. Silver scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would have current semi-professional football experience within the National league (north or south) environment. Bronze scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would have current regional league experience within the Northern premier, southern football league or Isthmian league. Or an equivalent league e.g. league of Wales. scholarships at Worcester (Women s) Gold scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would have women s super league 1 playing experience as a squad player. Silver scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would have women s super league 2 playing experience as a squad player. Bronze scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would be regular players within the women s premier league. Hockey Scholarships at Worcester Gold Scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would need to represent or be working with the England development or senior team, or a nation of an equivalent standard. Silver Scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would need to have England U21, England U18 or home nation representation experience, or equivalent standard experience. Bronze Scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would need to represent in the National League (Mens) NOW: Pension; Premier Division or Conference East, Conference North, Conference West OR (Ladies) Investec; Premier Division or Conference East, Conference North or Conference West. Cricket Scholarships at Worcester (Men s) Gold Scholarship: (up to 2,000) Applicants would need to be a contracted to a first class county and would need to be at least a County second team regular with demonstrable progress towards a first team place. Silver Scholarship: (up to 1,000) Applicants would need to be one of the following: County second team regular or minor counties regular. Bronze Scholarship: (up to 500) Applicants would need to be an academy player with a summer/development contract and appearances at second eleven for a first class county. Applicants would normally have been a member of a national age-group programme and would be continuing to make progress. Cricket Scholarships at Worcester (Women s) Gold Scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would need to have played regular senior international cricket within the past 2 years. Silver Scholarships (up to 1,000) Applicants would need to be currently involved in the England Development Programme. Bronze Scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would need to be currently playing senior county cricket and/or other home nations, or equivalent country standard. Rugby Scholarships at Worcester (Men s) Gold scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would have current professional RFU experience at RFU championship or above (or equivalent league) or actively be involved in the Elite player development group (U18) within the RFU. Silver scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would have current national league 1 or 2 playing experience (or equivalent league) or be affiliated to a regional academy or equivalent

8 Bronze scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would need to have current national league 3 playing experience (or equivalent league). Rugby Scholarships at Worcester (Women s) Gold scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would represent England ladies (senior squad, named in EPS) or equivalent country and be a regular starting player with the English women s premiership (or equivalent standard). Silver (up to 1,000) Applicants would have U20 England international experience and be a quad player in the English women s premiership (or equivalent standard). Beach Volleyball Boxing Diving Equestrian Dressage Gymnastics Rhythmic Handball Shooting Swimming Synchronised Swimming Water polo Curling Ski Jumping Weightlifting Figure Skating Snow board Silver scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would be performing in the England junior development programme at U19 level. Canoe Slalom Equestrian Eventing Hockey Table Tennis Wrestling Freestyle Freestyle Skating Speed Skating Bronze scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would have recent (within one year) of involvement with the England cadet development programme and evidence of progression towards the junior development programme at U19 level. Olympic & BUCS Sports Scholarships at Worcester *Olympics and BUCS sports that are not identified above may also be covered in the scholarship scheme. Please look at the recognised sports tables overleaf for clarification. Gold Scholarship (up to 2,000) Applicants would need to be training and competing with senior squads or teams, where the sport or event is widely played or competed in across the UK. Silver Scholarship (up to 1,000) Applicants would be training as part of an elite athlete pathway scheme as well as representing at junior national and International tournaments. Or athletes would have senior level representation in sports or events where activities have lower representation across the UK. Bronze Scholarship (up to 500) Applicants would be working within an elite athlete pathway scheme for their identified sport, or in a sport with little GB based representation. Archery Cricket Handball Orienteering Snow Sports Volleyball Athletics Hockey Pool Squash Wakeboarding Badminton Equestrian Ju Jitsu Rifle Surfing Water Polo Baseball/ Softball Fencing Judo Rounders Swimming Weightlifting Karate Rowing Table Tennis Wheelchair Boxing Futsal Korfball Rugby League Tennis Windsurfing Canoeing Clay Pigeon Shooting Badminton Gaelic Golf Cricket Rugby Lacrosse Rugby Union Trampoline Modern Biathlon/ Pentathlon Sailing Triathlon UNIVERSITY OF WORCESTER PERFORMANCE SPORTS Badminton Rugby Rowing (Top male crew) (Men s 2nd) Hockey Rowing (Top female crew) Netball Volleyball *Any student applying for a scholarship within one of the names sports above must be competing at performance level within the University of Worcester squads. I understand that to be successful in my application I must provide evidence showing potential for elite international performance as well as contributing to the UW BUCS teams and/or championships. I acknowledge that applications will be renewed on a yearly basis. Continuation on the scheme will be the result of making pleasing progress in both academic studies and sporting performance. Applications will be reviewed by an expert panel. Terms of Scholarship Any athlete successfully accepted onto the scholarship programme will be expected to compete in BUCS leagues or Championships where feasible. Failure to commit may result in loss of scholarship. Athletes on the sports scholarship pathway will be expected to commit to publicity, marketing and ambassadorial work within the University. Loss of Scholarship I accept that the University reserves the right to withdraw my place within the sports scholarship programme where behaviour is displayed which brings the University of Worcester into disrepute, including inappropriate doping activity in accordance with WADA and UKAD, anti-social behaviour or racial/ homophobic defamation. I understand that if I provide inaccurate information in support of my scholarship, which is subsequently found to be incorrect, the University of Worcester reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship. Furthermore if any scholarship monies have been received in these circumstances I agree to pay back to the University the full payments received, within 90 days of being notified of the requirement to do so.
