Ref: CITV/MH/CSS/20160302/30 CITV Share A Story Competition 2016 Application terms and conditions 1. APPLICATION PROCESS Competition opens on Thursday 3rd March 2016 as stated in the promotion. Competition closes for entry at 6.00 p.m. on Friday 29th April 2016. All entries received after 6.00 p.m. on Friday 29 April 2016 will not be counted. 2. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS In addition to the eligibility criteria in the General Competition, Vote and Poll Terms and Conditions, entrants must be aged between 5 and 12 years old at the time of the competition close date (Friday 29 April 2016) and must obtain prior parental permission before entering the competition. Please note teacher consent will not be adequate and parental consent must be obtained. The entrant must be available to attend the ITV Studios, The London Television Centre, Upper Ground, London, SE1 9LT with a parent or guardian on 13th July 2016 and a Premiere Event in Manchester for one day in the week commencing 10th October 2016. Proof of age and eligibility will be required. 3. METHOD OF ENTRY Eligible entrants should go to the website at www.itv.com/shareastory and download a competition entry form as instructed. The form should be printed and completed by hand then returned by post to Freepost CITV, or a scanned version of the form emailed to shareastory@itv.com. The entry form should contain the following: Entries must not contain any sensitive information, offensive language or images, any branding or any mention of any idea could work well as a one (1) minute animation. The winning entries will be adapted and turned into short animations of no more than one (1) minute in length. There is no other method of entry other than that specified in these terms and conditions. apply when accessing the internet. Entries created by groups of individuals, including without limitation school groups or other organisations, will be invalid and will not be entered into the competition. Only one (1) entry per person is permitted. In the event that any entrant submits more than one (1) entry, only the first entry will be considered. The Promoter, Prize Provider and producers bear no responsibility for any entry which is incorrectly submitted, lost or received after the closing date, or damaged in anyway. All entries will then be grouped into categories according to the following ages: (each a category and together the categories ). The Promoter recommends that entrants keep copies of their entries as entries will not be returned to the entrants.
4. SHORTLIST All submissions will be assessed by a panel of judges consisting of animators and industry experts, including an independent judge (the shortlist panel ). The shortlist panel will decide on a shortlist of up to 20 candidates in each category on or after Monday 23rd May 2016 (the shortlisted candidates ). The shortlist panel s selection of the shortlisted candidates will be at its sole discretion and will be final. 5. SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES JUDGING The shortlisted candidates will then be judged by a panel of judges, including an independent judge (the panel ). The panel will select three (3) finalists from each category on or after Thursday 2nd June 2016 (the finalists ) and the finalists parents will be contacted on or after Monday 6th June 2016. The panel s decision will be at its sole discretion and final. In the event that the panel ties in its decision, CITV s Creative Director will have the final decision. 6. FINALIST SELECTION There will be three (3) finalists from each age category. A further stage of selection may take place as an online public vote but alternatively the Promoter and Prize Provider reserve the right to elect that the panel pick the winner with the independent judge having the final decision in the event of a tie. 7. PRIZE The prize will be for the winners to write and voice their own one (1) minute film based on their entry to be shown on the CITV channel and CITV website. Each winner will be required to attend a workshop at the ITV Studios, The London Television Centre, London SE1 9LT. The workshop is expected to last for one (1) day and will be held on Wednesday 13th July 2016 in London. The parent(s) and/or guardian(s) of winners will be sent child performance licence paperwork prior to the workshop and will be required to have this licence paperwork, including without limitation the supply of any requested/required medical information, completed no later than 21 days before the day of the workshop. Winners and/or their parents and/or guardians may also be required to sign and complete additional paperwork authorising the winners to participate including without limitation consent forms in respect of the winners, their parent(s) and/or guardian(s) being filmed. Winners may also be asked to contribute to the animation (through voice over or similar) at the sole discretion of the Promoter and/or Prize Provider. Winners will work with an author on developing their story and be shown their story in working progress; this will comprise of, but is not limited to, character designs. Winners will also have the opportunity to voice their story after receiving tuition from a voice over artist. Their story will be made into a one (1) minute short animation. The animation may at the sole discretion of the Promoter be broadcast on CITV and on the CITV website. The Promoter may also at their sole discretion film a making of package featuring the winners including behind the scenes footage which may at the sole discretion of the Promoter also be broadcast on CITV and ITV and on the CITV website. The winner will be required to attend the Premiere Event of the finished animations in Manchester during the week commencing Monday 10th October 2016 with one parent or guardian.
