Energy Efficiency Award Challenge Energy Efficiency Award Challenge Showcase your company and be recognized as an industry leader in Green Building and Energy Efficiency! In the spirit of showcasing German excellence in energy efficiency innovation, products, and services, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, under the banner of the Energy Efficiency Made in Germany initiative, invites you to participate in the Energy Efficiency Award Challenge organized by GACC Midwest. The Energy Efficiency Award Challenge was created to recognize and help German companies gain market recognition in the US and make new industry connections. The competition provides participating German companies the chance to showcase their applicable technologies and services that focus on increasing overall building performance for commercial buildings in the U.S. The Energy Efficiency Award Challenges culminates in a live presentation in front of an independent jury of green building experts on April 7, 2016 in Chicago.
2 Apply to participate in the Award Challenge Eligibility requirements: Competition applicants may include, but are not limited to, companies that offer products, services and technologies that have successfully increased energy efficiency and/or overall building performance for a commercial building in the United States in the areas of cooling, compressed air, decentralized power supplies, electrical drive technology, HVAC, insulation, lighting, pumps, waste heat recovery, windows, etc. Participating companies need to be headquartered in Germany, but the impacts of each company s product, service, and/or technology must be shown in a reference project in the United States. Application Process: Please return the attached Application Form with all pertinent documents to Svenja Schroeder via email: schroeder@gaccmidwest.org (preferred), fax: (312) 644-0738 or by mail. Applications must be received no later than Friday, January 29, 2016 at 12pm CST. There is no cost to apply. Based on the application materials, four finalists will be preselected by GACC Midwest and the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy; and notified of acceptance to the Energy Efficiency Award Challenge by February 29, 2016. The finalists will showcase their company and project on the day of the Award Challenge on April 7, 2016 in front of an independent jury and the general public. The energy efficiency solution as well as the reference project (building in the U.S.) can be presented by a representative of the German company, by an appointed partner in the U.S., or both. Both the original application materials, as well as the presentation given on April 7 will be taken into consideration when awarding the Best Energy Efficiency Award. The four finalists will receive recognition through GACC Midwest s marketing materials for the Energy Efficiency Award Challenge Program. GACC Midwest reserves the right to disqualify submissions not adhering to the application requirements or to request resubmission in the event that application criteria are not met. For the four finalists selected to present their company and project at the Awards Challenge, a presentation length of 15 minutes will be strictly enforced. PowerPoint slides are allowed. Slides MUST be submitted no later than April 6, 2016.
