Participates in and attends tutorials and training sessions Multidisciplinary team relationships are fostered to ensure good patient outcomes and integrated care. Exchanging and sharing of knowledge and resources is recognized as an essential contribution to the team development. Works with the Cardiac Physiology Team Leader to train Provisional Clinical Physiologists and Clinical Physiology Technicians to adequate assessment criteria as per the SCT scopes of practice. Liaises closely with the team leader to ensure good clinical practice throughout the department Sickness and other unplanned absenteeism are notified to the Cardiac Physiology Team Leader on the day and later documented as per WDHB policies and procedures. Planned leave demonstrates consideration of other team members. Annual Leave entitlement is used to support a good work life balance. Contributes to the promotion of a quality practice environment that supports staff ability to provide safe, effective and ethical cardiology physiology practice. Seeks regular professional consultation to discuss how to address areas of difficulty and review quality of practice. Personal professional development is actively pursued by participation in appropriate inservice or post graduate education, reading relevant literature or seeking other resources. KEY TASKS Assimilate change in practice and service delivery Procedures and Tests EXPECTED OUTCOMES Addresses change with an open and positive mind questioning and discovering the process and its potential outcome. And as a senior clinical physiologist supports the team leader to assimilate changes. Participates in forums where there are opportunities for input into the change process development. Provides feedback on the process in a positive and constructive manner Communicates appropriately with all parties at team meetings and discussions. Adheres to time allocation of procedure clinic bookings so patient wait times at clinic are kept to a minimum. Procedures and tests are undertaken in accordance with WDHB documentation and guidelines. These tests and procedures may include but are not limited to: Electrocardiography (ECG) tests Exercise ECGs (bicycle or treadmill) Fitting, removal, analyzing and processing of data for Holter, Event and Blood Pressure monitoring. ETT supervision Cardiovascular Unit** cardiac monitoring and MRT role, including right heart studies and IABP. Training of staff Pacemaker Implants, assessment, management and routine follow up. ICD implants, assessment, management and routine follow up Contributes to the data which is available to demonstrate accuracy of calculations, reproducibility/validation and trends. Has a shared responsibility with the cardiac physiology team to see that equipment is maintained in good working order with documentation of preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing episodes. Refers to flowcharts for equipment fault finding, detection and repair of minor malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel when equipment fails and/or requires further repair.
