Most of the bidding documents for these activities have been finalized and launched and a few activities have been contracted. Page 1 of 5
With regards to policy, the National Water Council was created by Presidential Decree on August 15, 2011, with a consulting, planning and implementing role of the water and sanitation sector's strategic framework. A draft revised water law has been submitted to the Government and the Water and Sanitation Strategy is being finalized in coordination with the Mesa de Agua and under the leadership of INAPA. Number of water utilities that the project is supporting 70 percent of the occupancy capacity of hotel in the Puerto Plate region are connected to communal sanitation networks. 80 percent of consumers are connected to network sanitation in Puerto Plata. Completion and adoption of the National Strategy for the water and sanitation sector and is starting for the other 3 CORAAs (RFPs). Key Decisions Regarding Implementation Despite the encouraging improvement in project management, the procurement delays will not allow to complete all activities before the planned closing day.
