BSU is a classical public university ranked as the leading university in Belarus. It is accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and complies with the Quality Standards of the Department of Quality of the Republic of Belarus. BSU System of Quality Management is certified on compliance with ISO 9001-2010. Total personnel employed at the BSU is 8400 (including 7 580 full-time specialists), including over 2 400 academic staff members. The total number of students enrolled at all levels of education 34 200, including more than 2000 international students from more than 40 countries worldwide. BSU offers Higher Education Programs in 56 specialities and 256 specializations, Master Programs in 47 specialities, and PhD Programs in 114 specialities. With 16 Faculties and 4 Educational Institutes, including two major educational bodies the BSU Lyceum and BSU Law College, BSU is acting as an integral educational and research complex being the national leader in international cooperation in education and science. BSU belongs to a highly internationalized university community and follows its strategic priorities set in the Internationalization Strategy Plan adopted in 2012. 25-30 international projects within such programmes as Tempus, Erasmus Mundus, Jean Monnet, EU Cross- Border Cooperation, DAAD, FPB-Belarus, CIMO and many others are implemented at the BSU annually. Academic exchanges, joint researches and joint educational programs are implemented in the framework of more than 250 international agreements with institutions from Europe, Asia and America. Being aimed at broadening international contacts and increasing participation in international projects, BSU actively participates in calls for proposals held by international funds and institutions and promotes project proposals focused at modernization and building capacity of university management, enhancing quality of education, organization of mobility and development joint programmes and cooperation. (Project-oriented description) Bringing all these competences BSU will lead WPs according to project work plan and perform all necessary administrative, legal and ongoing management as required by the project. BSU will contribute to the development of methodology for research tasks assigned under the work plan. In addition BSU will facilitate cooperation among Belarusian academic community using ready-made networks and professional links to engage regional partners/ colleagues to bring an added value to the project. BSU will put all efforts to ensure smooth implementation of the project activities and contribute to success of the project via dissemination of the project outcomes and effective use of the project deliverables. Position: Rector Academic Profile includes the position of the Academician of the National Academy of Science of Belarus, DSc, Professor with research area in image analysis, pattern and graphics recognition, digital geometry, knowledge-based systems, geographical information systems and medical imaging. S.Ablameyko holds numerous academic awards, certificates of merits, titles of honour and other recognition of achievements in fundamental and applied researches. He is in Editorial Board of Pattern Recognition Letters, Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, Machine Graphics and Vision and other international and national journals. He is Editor-in-Chief of two national Sergey Ablameyko journals. Moreover he leads a number of international projects in image analysis and GIS funded by European Commission through Programs COPERNICUS, INTAS, ISTC, 6th and 7th Framework Program, international projects with organizations from Russian, Ukraine, India and China, goes in for National Programs and projects in Informatics and Image Processing. He also manages several Russian-Belarusian joint Programs in Space, Supercomputers and GRID-technologies. S. Vadzim Reznikau Alexander Rytov was a First Vice-President of IAPR (2006-2008), President of Belarusian Association for Image Analysis and Recognition. His publications include more than 350 scientific works, 9 of them are authored/co-authored books, 34 edited books and proceedings, and more than 180 refereed papers (in English) in international journals and proceedings of international conferences and two tutorials. S. Ablameyko is a regular member and chair/co-chair of various conferences, forums and congresses devoted to computer and engineering problems. For his active participation in the scientific life of the country and world research continuum he was awarded to numerous national honors such as State Prize of Belarus (highest national scientific award), 2002, Award of the National Academy of Sciences for the best scientific work, 2007, Belarusian Medal of F.Skoryna, Russian Award of Friendship and many other awards. He also won different international grants as a visiting scientist in research centers of Italy, Finland, Australia, Japan, and Germany and so on.
