Rhodes & Marshall Scholarships 2016 Information Session Agnes Scott College
Why Study in the U.K.? Approximately a quarter of the top ranked universities in the world are in Britain. The tutorial system in Oxford and Cambridge embodies the ideal of close academic contact between professors and students. Enables you to develop global personal and professional networks.
Admissions to British Universities Both the Marshall Foundation and the Rhodes Trust will place their Scholars in their proposed program(s).
What Degree Should You Read For? Undergraduate Level Degrees: A second B.A. is an option for the Rhodes, though an increasingly less common one (90% of Rhodes Scholars read for a post-grad degree). It is not an option for the Marshall. Graduate Level Degrees: M.Phil., M.Sc., M.St., M.Litt., B.Phil., D. Phil. (Oxford), Ph.D. (rest of Britain). Oxford B.Phil. and some Oxford M.Phils. are two-year degrees. There is a possibility for third year (D.Phil) funding, but not if you read for two one-year M.Phils.
