The ccupant will prvide hlistic, primary health care services t the Martu peple f the cmmunities f Newman, Jigalng, Punmu, Kunawarritji and Parnngurr. Clinical care and remte area nursing: In the delivery f all nursing care the Remte Area RN will: Cmply with all applicable evidence based, best practice standards; Operate n within the scpe f evidence based, best practice standards; Cmply with all applicable Nursing and Midwifery Bard cdes f cnduct and ethics; Cmply with all applicable legislatin and cmmn law relating t the practice f registered nurses including duty f care laws, prfessinal standards and mandatry reprting legalisatin and guidelines; Cllabrate with team members in a prfessinal way; Be accuntable t clients, team members and PAMS fr actins and service delivery. Prvide high level primary health care services within the scpe f practice f a Remte Area Registered Nurse: In cllabratin with the Clinical Manager and the multi-disciplinary team, assist with cntinuity f service delivery and prgram initiatives develp and implement prgrams fr the preventin f chrnic disease including: Cnducting well persn s checks and child health checks; Prviding sexual health checks, management, risk minimisatin and preventin services In cllabratin with the maternal and child health prgram, prvide pre-natal and ante natal care Prviding Mental Health referrals and supprt In cnjunctin with the Child and Maternal Health Nurse undertake Child Health Checks and Child Health services Prviding nutritinal, dietary and healthy lifestyle advice and educatin and seeking 2 f 5

Mentrship and wrkfrce capacity: PAMS is cmmitted t develping the wrkfrce capacity f the lcal Martu peple fr the purpse f prmting a lng-term sustainable health service. The strategy invlves the emplyment f lcal peple. All Remte Area Registered Nurses, including casual nurses, have a respnsibility t prvide psitive leadership and mentrship within their area f wrk. This includes prviding nging pprtunistic educatin and infrmatin n client care and interventins. It als invlves ensuring that lcally emplyed staff are engaged in prgram develpment, CQI initiatives and ther initiatives. Engagement is t be meaningful and value adding t the develpment thrugh daily supprt f the individual. Supprt the rle f the Abriginal Health Wrker. 3. Educatin and Health Prmtin: Wrk in cllabratin with the team and Clinical Manager t develp and implement strategies that prmte health f the individual and the cmmunity. In cllabratin with ther emplyees prvide educatin t clients and families n care including chrnic disease management and health preventin. 4. Vaccine Strage and Management: Ensure that the integrity f all immunisatins is maintained Understand cld chain management and maintain the cld chain. Understand all NHMRC guidelines in respect t vaccine strage and management Understand and adhere t the plicies develped in regards t vaccine strage and management Have a wrking knwledge f Immunisatin Schedules and dcumentatin 5. Ensure a clear understanding f PAMS reprting requirements as relevant t the psitin Under the supervisin and at the directin f the Clinical Manager, attend meetings and prvide expert input in regards t client care with the scpe f practice f the Remte Area Registered Nurse Prmte cperative and cllabrative wrking relatinships with ther health service prviders in the area 7. General respnsibilities Cmply with all PAMS plicies and prcedures Wrk within the scpe f what is reasnably expected f a Remte Area Registered Nurse. This means wrking t keep all equipment safe and functining and ensuring a safe and clean envirnment t a standard expected f a clinical wrk space. Wrking cllabratively t prvide a harmnius wrking envirnment and taking psitive actins t achieve this such as keeping the shared spaces clean, cllabrating and cperating n use f resurces and being accmmdating with respect t unexpected incnveniences that arise frm time t time. Ensure that PAMS facilities are maintained t reasnable standards and when necessary crdinate and assist with accmmdatin fr visiting PAMS Staff Ensure that an nging risk assessment is undertaken t ensure a safe wrking envirnment is maintained 8. Quality imprvement activities Participate in cntinual quality imprvement in the delivery f client services. SELECTION CRITERIA ESSENTIAL: Current registratin with the Australian Health Practitiner Regulatin Agency as a Registered Nurse At least 3 years pst graduate experience in nursing, demnstrating a sund prfessinal backgrund. An understanding and a cmmitment t the principles f Primary Health Care and Cmmunity Develpment. Demnstrated ability t plan, develp, implement and evaluate nursing care prgrams in a remte primary health setting Demnstrated ability t cmmunicate effectively and sensitively with Abriginal peple 4 f 5
A demnstrated understanding f the unique issues affecting and impacting n the health and wellbeing f Abriginal peple. Experience, skills and knwledge wrking in a multidisciplinary team, including teamwrk and cnflict management. Excellent written and ral cmmunicatin skills. An ability t wrk, reside and travel independently in a remte regin. Demnstrated rganisatinal and time management skills alng with an ability t adapt t changing needs.
