I. Location A. Site - All graduation ceremonies for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD will be located at: Richard E. Berry Center 8877 Barker Cypress Road Cypress, Texas 77433 Phone # 281-894-3900 B. Traffic Flow - In order to move traffic smoothly: One week prior to graduation, the marquee at the Berry Center will notify community members of possible traffic concerns in the area. Alternative routes to the Berry Center will be available at www.berrycenter.net/parkingdirections. Message boards will be strategically placed along various routes to assist with the flow of traffic. CFISD Police Department will control parking, entrance/exit sites, and traffic flow on Barker Cypress and all adjoining roads. II. Arrival, Entrance, Parking and Exiting A. Arrival, Entrance, Parking and Exiting at the Berry Center Graduates: Arrival: 1 hour prior to start of ceremony (e schedule on page 3) Building Entrance: Entrance Two (East) or Entrance Three (West) Parking Lot: Parking lot B or D Exit: Conference center door to parking lot C NOTE: All graduates will line up and be searched in the atrium area prior to being seated in the Conference room/staging area. Parents/Guests: Arrival: 45 minutes prior to start of ceremony Building Entrance: Entrance Two (East) or Entrance Three (West) Parking Lot: Parking lot B or D Exit: Exit Two (East) or Exit Three (West) NOTE: Leave miscellaneous items such as balloons, food, flowers, signs, and noisemakers at home as they are not allowed in the Berry Center. B. Cap and Gown Balfour personnel will be located inside the Conference Center to assist graduates with cap and gown problems. In keeping with the dignity of the occasion, robes, mortarboards, and tassels may not be altered. C. Concessions Bottled water may be available for purchase. D. Graduation Pictures Individual pictures will be taken as graduates receive their diploma and a second picture will be taken after they exit the stage. Each campus will designate one person at the counselor/registrar table to cross off names of any graduates who did not attend the graduation ceremony and give that list (and cards of missing students) to the photographer. The photographer will have the student say his/her name into a microphone positioned at the exit ramp. E. Graduation Day 1. Give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the Berry Center by 11:00 AM. Leave your house no later than 10:00 AM. 2. CFPD will direct traffic into and out of the Berry Center. 3. Carpooling or riding with family is recommended. 4. All graduates will be SEARCHED upon entrance to the Berry Center. 5. Do not bring any item other than your car key into the Berry Center. 6. Upon exiting the stage each student will receive a white envelope from the counselors. This envelope contains your actual diploma, shot records, unofficial transcript and a link to access EOC scores. Do not leave it in the arena after graduation. 7. Any disruptive behavior will result in being escorted out of the arena by an A.P. or CFPD. Your diploma will be held and must be picked up at Cy-Fair High School on Monday. 8. If you want to keep your tassel, then take your tassel off of your cap before throwing it in the air. - 4 -
