Assessrs must be frm an ccupatinal health and/r management backgrund. Applicants must have an interest in hw ccupatinal health services are delivered and must read, understand, cmplete and agree with dcuments listed belw: Assessr Applicatin Frm Assessr Cde f Cnduct This dcument defines the rles and cmpetencies required fr all assessrs. The rles, respnsibilities and cmpetencies listed within this dcument will be the basis f recruitment f SEQOHS assessrs and the fundatin upn which the 360 degree feedback tl is based. Abut the SEQOHS Assessr Rle SEQOHS assessrs have a critical rle applying the SEQOHS standards thrugh accreditatin. Successful applicants will underg a detailed training prgramme that will equip them with the necessary skills and knwledge t represent the SEQOHS Accreditatin Scheme t OH Services. Fr mre infrmatin, please see the SEQOHS assessr training curriculum. SEQOHS assessrs are expected t prmte and champin the SEQOHS Accreditatin Scheme. Recgnitin and Reward SEQOHS assessrs will be paid ut f pcket expenses, and receive a nminal fee fr the time spent cnducting SEQOHS Assessments. Further details f this are available frm the SEQOHS ffice. Recruitment criteria SEQOHS assessrs must be physicians, nurses, business managers, physitherapists r administratrs wh are actively invlved in ccupatinal health prvisin. Furthermre, nly experienced prfessinals wh meet the minimum requirements and shw sufficient skill t perfrm the rles and respnsibilities utlined belw will be ffered a SEQOHS Assessr Cntract. Minimum Requirements All prspective assessrs must meet the fllwing minimum requirements: r and Wrked fr at least three years in rganisatins that have in-huse quality assurance prgrammes r which have external accreditatin (e.g. ISO 9001, IIP). And Having wrked at least ne f thse years in the last three years. Their emplyers intend t apply t enter the SEQOHS accreditatin pathway within ne year f the applicant becming a SEQOHS assessr. Demnstrates cmpetency fllwing the SEQOHS assessr training prgramme. Agrees t participate in cntinuing educatin. Actively wrks twards SEQOHS accreditatin within their OH Service. Additinally, there are minimum requirements fr each f the assessr rles: Occupatinal physician Recrded n the GMC register as an accredited specialist in ccupatinal medicine. Occupatinal health nurse Recrded n the NMC register fr registratin. Business manager Hlds a recrdable qualificatin in business management administratin (e.g. CIPD, ID), r Demnstrates clear experience in managing an ccupatinal health department r cmmercial enterprise, r Has previus experience as an auditr. Rle All applicants must be willing and able t fulfil the fllwing rles: Lead r participate as a member f the assessment team. Lead skilled assessments in their particular field f expertise. Supprt ther aspects f the assessment prcess as required. Additinally, there are specific rles fr each f the assessrs: Clinician (physician, physitherapist r nurse) - be the named lead fr all clinical, service and ther key assessments. Business manager - be the named lead fr all business, envirnment and plicy assessments Respnsibilities All assessrs will be required t adhere t the fllwing respnsibilities: 1. Abides by time frames set fr the SEQOHS accreditatin scheme. 2. Uses the dcumentatin upladed t the evidence prtfli by OH Services t prepare fr assessments. 3. Perfrms assessments as trained. 4. Reprts n the assessment with actins and recmmendatins in their area f expertise. 5. Cntributes fully t the whle assessment reprt. 6. Actively cmmunicates with ther team members. 7. Prvides a review f the actin plan when necessary. 8. Cnducts fllw up reviews and n-site visits when necessary. 9. Prvides feedback t peers after every assessment thrugh the 360 Degree peer review tl. 10. Invites feedback frm OH Services, fellw assessrs and the SEQOHS Office n their perfrmance. Additinally, there are specific rles fr the lead assessr, as utlined belw: 1. Serves as the spkespersn fr the assessment team. 2. Crdinates the assessment. 3. Serves as the main cntact persn (if applicable, this respnsibility may be devlved). 4. Signs ff and submits the assessment reprt t the SEQOHS ffice within the time frames. 5. Experience and Training In additin t the minimum requirements all assessrs shuld be able t demnstrate: Active invlvement in a related field that allws the individual t stay infrmed f the SEQOHS standards and hw they relate n a practical level t the OH Service. An expert understanding f the SEQOHS accreditatin scheme and standards. Active participatin in a quality prgramme, perfrming assessments, r having respnsibilities fr quality cntrl, prcess cntrl r ther quality-related practices. In additin t the abve, all assessrs are expected t successfully cmplete the SEQOHS assessr training prgramme. Cmmitment All assessrs are required t: 1. Adhere t the annual cntinuing educatin requirement. 2. Undertake all activities whilst maintaining prfessinal cnduct. 3. Abide by the cde f cnduct. 4. Abide by the cnflict f interest requirement. 5. Abide by the cnfidentiality requirement. Nte: Sme assessments may last fr mre than ne day and may invlve travel utside f an assessr s lcal area. If an assessr is invlved in this type f assessment, the SEQOHS ffice will require cmmitment t the pre-determined time and lcatin. Attributes and Abilities All assessrs are required t: Act n behalf f the SEQOHS accreditatin scheme and OH services with integrity. Manage all infrmatin in a cnfidential and secure manner. Organise their schedule sufficiently t accmplish assessment activities. Relate bservatins t the SEQOHS standards. Demnstrate the required knwledge in relatin t the SEQOHS standards and accreditatin scheme and their rle as an assessr. Synthesise infrmatin by asking pen ended questins. Demnstrate: gd verbal and written cmmunicatin skills punctuality a psitive attitude practicality active listening skills facilitatin skills bjectivity and prfessinalism bservatin skills. Cntinuing Educatin Assessrs are required t maintain their knwledge and skills thrugh an annual cycle f review and develpment. All assessrs will be required t achieve the fllwing during each year that they remain an assessr: 1. Attend at least ne scheduled SEQOHS assessr review day. 2. Cmplete an nline refresher sessin. 3. Cmplete at least three SEQOHS assessments. 4. Cmplete a 360 degree peer review n their fellw assessrs fllwing each assessment. 5. Maintain an active and up t date presence within the OH industry. Cmpetency Framewrk Cre Cmpetencies The SEQOHS ffice requires all SEQOHS Accredited Assessrs t pssess the fllwing five cre cmpetencies and the supprting capability level. After assessrs have cmpleted the SEQOHS Assessr Training Prgramme, these cmpetencies will be assessed thrugh the 360 degree assessment tl that cllates OH Service feedback, peer feedback and SEQOHS Office feedback. Cmpetency A thrugh understanding f the SEQOHS Accreditatin prcess including the principles, purpse and prcesses included in assessments and assesses against it cnsistently. Applies understanding f a range f OH Services and functins and takes an verall view f the OH Service perfrmance. Cntributes psitively and effectively as a member f a high perfrming natinal accreditatin team, with effective cmmunicatin skills. Gathers, assimilates and analyses evidence frm handbks and discussins t develp sund judgments. Prduces clear, bjective, accurate and useful reprts. Capability Understands the structure and cntent f the nline system. Understands the SEQOHS Standards fr specific areas expertise. Assesses apprpriately and cnsistently acrss and within all criteria fr the SEQOHS Standards. Understands the key rles, structures, prcesses and systems f OH Services within different sectrs, f functins within thse services, and f peple emplyed at different levels. Takes a hlistic and well balanced view f an OH Service and identifies the mst critical strengths and areas fr imprvement; thse that have majr impact n the service and OH Service perfrmance. Cntributes psitively and effectively as a member f a high perfrming team. Cmmunicates effectively, bth verbally and in writing. Rapidly identifies and assimilates key data and infrmatin prvided thrugh the nline system. Interpersnal and Operatinal Cmpetencies The SEQOHS Office requires all SEQOHS Accredited Assessrs t pssess the fllwing fur interpersnal and peratinal cmpetencies and the supprting capability level. After assessrs have cmpleted the SEQOHS Assessr Training Prgramme, these cmpetencies will be assessed thrugh the 360 degree assessment tl that cllates OH Service feedback, peer feedback and SEQOHS Office feedback. Cmpetency Leads the assessment team. (All team members are likely t lead sme aspect f the prcess) Acts prfessinally and uphlds the values f the SEQOHS Accreditatin Scheme. Treats all infrmatin cnfidentially. Wrks t agreed pririties, utcmes, and time cnstraints; is respnsive t changes in requirement. Assessr Capability Effectively leads the planning and rganisatin f the assessment prcess. Effectively manages the assessment prcess thrugh gd planning and mnitring and by delivering t high standards in agreed timescales. Mtivates team members and creates a psitive team spirit.
