AWARDS & ACCOLADES A. YUVA AWARDS: A. The EDC of PSGCAS Coimbatore was awarded the Best Entrepreneurship Event in YUVA (for successfully conducting two Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps for YI) by the YUVA wing of the Young Indians, a part of CII on the event of the Launch of the Coimbatore chapter of YUVA on 12 th August 2016 at GRD Auditorium. B. Dr. E.Mythily, Coordinator Young Indians, PSG CAS bagged the Best YUVA Coordinator Award at the same event.

B. YuStart Challenge won by EDP Participant & PSGCAS Student YuStart is a National Startup Competition, conducted as part of the Entrepreneurship Summit organized by Young Indians, (Bangalore Chapter) along with CII. The event provides a platform for students to pitch in their business startup ideas. Mr. Vijay Raj was among the top five finalists and won the Runner Up prize and also received a cash award of Rs. 5000 along with an opportunity for incubation in NSRCEL, IIM - Bangalore.

EAC for Young Indians (Yi) A three day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was conducted for the YI students from the YUVA wing of CII from 5 th to 7 th Jan 2017. A total of 77 Students from various institutions such as PSG College of Arts & Science, Avinashilingam University, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, KV Institute of Management and Sri Guru Institute of Technology attended this program. Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Program: Costume Design and Fashion (36 days) The 36 days Technology Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme (TEDP) involves 21 days of training on the various aspects of starting one s own business and 15 days of Hands on training on the area of the participants interest. It was attended by 35 participants and involved industrial visits and trainings. Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (25 days) The Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP) of 25 days was conducted from 3 rd January to 8 th February 2017. The program was conducted in Association with FICCI Flo (FICCI Ladies Organization), Coimbatore Chapter. The training was open to the women members of the public interested in starting their own business. Candidates (27 nos.) attended the extensively planned program that catered to all aspects of a new start up, including funding opportunities from Government and banks sponsored Schemes. Innopreneurs Club A. Decoupage Workshop: Innopreneurs Club organized Decoupage workshop by Mrs. Revathi Kannan, Proprietor, Vama- House of Crafts, Coimbatore on 9.9.2016 for the students of our institution. Decoupage is the art of decorating objects imprinted with decorative tissue papers

B. Terrarium Workshop: A workshop was organized on Terrarium, handled by Ms. Lakshmi Pillai, Student Entrepreneur and final Year student from the Department of Commerce. Terrarium is an art of growing plants inside glass containers. 43 students from various department of our institution learnt the art of making terrariums.

C. Coffee Painting Workshop: A workshop was organized on Coffee Painting with the support of Ms. Eshita Jain, Final year BBA student on 21-3-2017 for the students of our institution. Students made a variety of beautiful paintings from Coffee and learnt the skill involved in it.

D. i - Week Celebration: Innopreneurs Club celebrated i-week-2017 from 20 th to 24 th of March 2017, conducting events, workshops and i-bazaar for the students to promote innovative attitude in their mind and develop innovative skills in them. This inter-collegiate event was inaugurated by Dr V Vimal, Founder and Joint Director, Innovspace, Coimbatore. Ideathon, Hundred Rupee Venture and Idea-box were the events organized to bring out the innovative minds of the students in business ideas and the winners in each of the event were given attractive prizes. I-Bazaar is an exclusive two-day shopping fest, where Food stalls and Commercial stalls were set up for the students to display their products and market them. It was inaugurated by Dr. Mahendran, HOD, Dept. of Psychology on 23 rd of March 2017. Innovative food and commercial stall were judged by the experts and the Best stall award was given to them by the Faculty-in-charge (UA) Dr M Devarajan in the Valediction of i-week on 24-3-2017.

I. Activities of YUVA, (Yi), CII A. Young Indians (Yi) in association with CII organized a "Smart City Hackathon" on 19 th & 20 th August 2016 at Coimbatore. Around 50 Students from PSG CAS participated in the event. Mr.Achyutan M G, Barath R, Vijay Baskaran A.T of M.Sc. software systems, PSG CAS received the first prize in the competition, a cash award of Rs. 25,000/- was received by the winners. B. The inauguration of HORN NOT OK PLEASE (HNOP) project took place on 28th September 2016 at Sangamam hall between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Mr.Vikranth and Mr.Pradeep kumar, members from YUVA, Coimbatore chapter addressed the Yi members on the ill effects of noise pollution in the city due to unnecessary honking. Tentative action plan was prepared to conduct various events on HNOP. All the Yi members participated in the programme. C. On 3 rd October 2016, a sticker campaign for HNOP was conducted at students parking and staff parking. Around 400 stickers were stuck in the vehicles, Yi members insisted with motorists and drivers not to honk unnecessarily. D. The Flagship event Coffee with CEO was conducted at Sangamam Hall on 3 rd October 2016 for the Y members. Mr. Senthil P Muruganantham, CEO, ANT International interacted with the members about his entrepreneurial journey. Students enthusiastically posed questions to the CEO. Mr. SivaKumar palianiappan, Founder & Chief Mentor, Mastering Mind Academy also joined the occasion and shared his views on entrepreneurship.

E. The Yi members of PSG College of Arts and Science conducted an awareness programme on the title Horn Not OK Please (HNOP) to the TNSTC drivers at TNSTC Training Institute, Pollachi on 6 th January between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. They insisted on sensible usage of honking and along with the Drama Club of PSG CAS, the ill effects of noise pollution was insisted through skits. An interesting interaction with the drivers brought into light the difficulties faced by the drivers while driving. Around 200 TNSTC drivers participated in the programme. Mr. Bala Dhandapani, Principal, TNSTC Training Institute and his team joined in organizing the programme successfully.

II. Activities of National Entrepreneurial Network A. NEN Orientation Programme A MOU is signed between PSG CAS and NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network), Wadhwani Foundation, in May 2016. The first orientation programme was organized for the students on 3rd August, 2016 in Sangamam Hall. Ms. Vishnu Priya, Regional Head (Tamil Nadu & Telangana), NEN, addressed the students. She motivated the students in taking up Entrepreneurship by discussing stories of successful entrepreneurs and also gave an outlook about the role of students in E-cells in campus and about campus companies. B. NEN Course WF100 An MOU is signed between PSGCAS and NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network), Wadhwani Foundation to promote and educate Entrepreneurship among students. In this regard, the Orientation programme on Entrepreneurship (WF 100) was conducted for students on Saturdays 9am to 1pm from 3.9.16 to 1.10.16. The course material is provided by NEN. MS. Rekhapriyadharshini, Asst prof, Dept of Corporate Secretaryship and Ms. Sowmeya, Asst prof, Dept of Catering Science & Hotel Management were the facilitators.

C. Entrepreneurship Educator Programme : WF 101 Entrepreneurship Educator Program is an intensive three-day faculty development program organized by NEN in KCT Business School, Coimbatore from 28th to 30th December, 2016. Ms. Swarnalatha, Assistant Professor, Dept of Management Sciences, Ms. Rekhapriyadharshini, Assistant Professor, Dept of Corporate Secretaryship and Ms. Sowmeya, Assistant Professor, Dept of Catering Science & Hotel Management participated in the FDP. The objective of the programme is to help provide a space and platform for discovery, both self-discovery and opportunity discovery, to students. To make teachers guide students to discover their strengths in terms of an entrepreneurial founding team and learn basics such as opportunity discovery, prototyping, competition analysis, and early customer insights. D. NEN Course WF101 The Basic programme on Entrepreneurship (WF 101) was conducted for students on Saturdays 9am to 1pm from 25.2.17 to 1.4.17.Ms. Swarnalatha, Assistant Professor, Dept of Management Sciences, Ms.Rekhapriyadharshini, Assistant Professor were the facilitators. It helped the students to develop a deep understanding of Entrepreneurship concepts such as idea generation, Opportunity Evaluation, Customer Discovery, Value Proposition Design and Prototyping

III. Other Activities A. Gandhi Fellowship Lecture on Social Entrepreneurship EDC organized a lecture on 22 nd March, on the topic of Social Entrepreneurship in association with The Gandhi Fellowship, a social Entrepreneurial endeavour of the Piramal Foundation. Mrs. Krithika Reddy from Gandhi Fellowship addressed the gathering of Final Year UG and PG students (class reps) from all the streams in the college. She informed the students about the Gandhi Fellowship program that is a 2 year residential program that trains students to become active catalysts for change in the rural and urban education improvement for the underprivileged. Mr. Prabhu Loganathan from the Isha Foundation s Educational Fund Raising initiative was also invited as a speaker and he enlightened the students about the efforts undertaken by the Isha foundation in making education available to students from the poorest section of the society.

B. Millennium Alliance Roadshow The FICCI Millennium Alliance Workshop- Round 5 was held on 3rd February 2017 at Library conference Hall, PSG College of Arts and Science from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Ms. Rekhapriyadharshini, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering. The programme was presided by Dr. M. Veerabatheran, Principal-in-charge. Mr. Kailash Hariharan, Joint Director, Center for Innovation & Technology Commercialization, FICCI was the chief guest for the day.
