Scholarship Names: Eddie G. Davis Scholarship Description: The Eddie G. Davis Scholarship was established in honor Eddie G. Davis who serves as the President & Executive Director for the Center for the Acceleration of African American Business. He formed DaLite & Associates, LLC in 2001 to serve as a business consultant to small and mid-size businesses and also serves as Chairman of the Board for Justine Petersen Housing and & Reinvestment Corporation, Chairmen of the Economic Development Committee, St. Louis Black Leadership Roundtable and the Economic Empowerment Division Leader of the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis. He is the past president of the St. Louis Minority Council and a past member and president of the St. Louis Board of Education. Mr. Davis was employed by AmernUE for 26 years and eventually served as the company's Minority Business Developer in the Purchasing Department. He was selected as the 2009 National Minority Business Champion by the U.S. Small Business Administration and invited to Washington, DC to receive the award and to meet the President in the White House. He is married to Robin Saunders Davis and is the father of three adult children. This scholarship program is being initiated & funded by Friends of the Eddie G. Davis 41st Annual New Year s Eve Gathering, December 31, 2014. Scholarship Names: Katherine Whittaker-Moore Scholarship Description: Katherine Whittaker-Moore Scholarship-The Katherine Whittaker-Moore Scholarship was established in 2014 by her daughter Gwendolyn Downs. The scholarship was formed to celebrate Mrs. Moore s 90th birthday. Mrs. Moore always knew the one of the keys to the door of opportunity was attached to a college degree. However, as the mother of 13 children pursuing a college degree was not possible. As a result, Mrs. Moore made the decision to go back into the workforce working as a burn unit professional to help support her large family. She has always stressed the importance of education.
