Note Topic Definition 1 HCAHPS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. A national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients perspectives of hospital care. HCAHPS allows valid comparisons to be made across hospitals locally, regionally, and nationally. 2 Data Delay 3 Benchmarking 5 Baseline Domain Scores Data for HCAHPS reports lag weeks from report date to allow surveys to be returned. CMS does not count surveys returned > weeks from the patients discharge. The PG All Database percentile rank provides a comparison of performance relative to other participants in the Press Ganey database. The Baseline Period is a designated time span used to capture data against which the current period is compared. FY1 is comprised of the months July 2015 - June 201; is comprised of July 201 - end of month reported. Note there was a lapse in HCAHPS survey results from Press Ganey for discharges between October 2015 and February 201. Domain scores are calculated by summing the responses to two or three questions regarding each patient's experience. Hourly Rounding A custom question was added to the inpatient survey 11/201 asking if a member of the patient care team checked on the respondent hourly through the day. This is a percentage of those that responded "yes". * 12-month Sparkline graphs demonstrate monthly trend of % Top Box for the most recent 12-months. Breaks in the graph indicate a period of n=0.
