The very best marksmen are selected as snipers who work in teams of two often behind enemy lines. JAVELIN Machine Gunner. Machine Gun Platoon soldiers have a deadly reputation and fire power. Driver. Motor Transport soldiers instruct, manage and service vehicle fleets. Drive a Warrior, Foxhound, quad bike or HGV. Communications Information Systems Soldier. Responsible for the establishment, control and security of the digital battle space. Physical Training Instructor. Pass the physical training course and become a Company instructor or work full-time in the Gym. Assault Pioneer and Musician. Infantry combat engineers building, demolishing and clearing obstacles. Learn to play the drum, flute or bugle in the Corps of Drums. Team Medic. Every YORKS soldier trains in First Aid but some are selected to become Team Medics who save lives on the battlefield. Mortarman. The artillery of the YORKS providing accurate fast and explosive fire support on the modern battlefield. Javelin Anti-Tank Gunner. Anti-Tank soldiers fire Javelin missiles to destroy enemy armour and defensive positions. Heavy Machine Gun Pistol. GLOCK 17 GPMG L16A2 81mm Mortar Reconnaissance Soldier. Specialists in close reconnaissance, use of initiative and quick thinking in close cohesive teams Intelligence Soldier. Responsible for the collection and analysis of information gained from sources across the battlefield. 3 BEST SPORTING REGIMENT Sport, Travel and Adventure We offer you the opportunity to play lots of sport during your career. Whether you enjoy individual competition or team games, playing at army level or simply kicking a football around with your mates the Yorkshire Regiment will offer you opportunities to take your sporting interest to whatever level you wish to achieve. We are the best sporting regiment in the British Army. We win competitions and trophies in Army football and in Army rugby League and Union; skiing, cycling, cricket, boxing and even fishing. Our teams travel all over the world on sporting tours.
