League-leading STANFORD (40-8, 18-6 Pac-12) holds a 1.5-game advantage over OREGON STATE (40-8-1, 16-7-1) in second. The Cardinal hosts WASHINGTON STATE (15-28-1, 7-16-1) for a threegame series starting on Friday and the Beavers travel to USC (24-23, 11-16) for a three-game matchup. The Beavers have a 1.5-game edge over UCLA (32-17, 15-9) and WASHINGTON (25-22, 15-9), both tied for third place. All six Pac-12 league series this weekend will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks. IN THE RANKINGS: Three Pac-12 teams are ranked in the latest USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll - No. 2 Oregon State leaped over No. 3 Stanford to take the second spot, along with No. 18 UCLA. The Cardinal and Beavers both boast top-10 NCAA RPIs, ranking second and sixth, respectively, followed by UCLA at No. 37 and ARIZONA at No. 43. Washington is ranked No. 73 after earning a series win against UCLA and Cal is ranked at No. 78 after sweeping its series against Arizona. In the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll, Oregon State is No. 2, Stanford is No. 3 and UCLA is No. 19, while California and Washington are receiving votes. WEEKLY RECAP: In the biggest ranked matchup of the season, then-no.3 Oregon State won 2-of-3 games against then-no. 2 Stanford to close the gap for first place in the Conference. Pitcher Luke Heimlich helped the Beavers upset the Cardinal, 6-2, in the series opener with his nation-leading 12th win of the season, which ties for the fifth-best single-season mark in program history. Heimlich earned Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week for his individual performance and also picked up NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week honors. Oregon State shut out Stanford, 10-0, on Saturday and then Cardinal pitcher Will Matthiessen drove in the game-winning run in the 10th inning to prevent a sweep with a 9-6 victory on Sunday. Oregon State collected two high-scoring wins over San Diego (23-6, 16-6) to extend its non-conference record to 23-1 this season and 54-2 (.964) since 2017. Cadyn Grenier s hit streak reached 24 games for the Beavers second-longest streak since 1977. Washington moved into a tie for third place in the Conference after claiming the series against UCLA (3-7, 13-6, 6-4). UW rallied from an early deficit in the rubber match to clinch the series in the 11th inning with a walk-off home run by designated hitter Joe Wainhouse. Wainhouse went 7-for-14 with three home runs, seven RBIs and five runs against the Bruins to earn Pac-12 Player of the Week. UCLA captured a 15-2 midweek victory over CSUN as Bruins head coach John Savage is one game away from reaching his 1,000th career game. Savage has the highest winning percentage of any UCLA coach since 1926. CALIFORNIA defended its home field for the last time this season and swept ARIZONA (30-20, 10-14) by scores of 9-3, 16-6 and 12-11. Erik Martinez finished off the weekend for Cal with a ninth inning-strikeout that clinched the thrilling 12-11 victory on his senior day. OREGON recorded its first sweep of the season, taking all three against Utah last week. After breezing through the first two games (6-2, 13-1) the finale came down to the wire and Kyle Kasser s fourth run of the afternoon gave the Ducks a 4-3 walk-off win on Sunday. USC collected its second-straight series, defeating Washington State with the help of Solomon Bates tossing seven innings to secure a 9-3 win on Sunday. NUMBERS GAME: Two Pac-12 teams rank in the top-5 nationally in win-loss percentage with No. 2 Stanford (.833) and No. 3 Oregon State (.827).
