News Briefs Chief s Column and an Airman suffers because he or she did not know that they were straying off course. Hello 115th Fighter Wing Airmen! Welcome to the March RSD. I would like to use this month s opportunity to relay some history and discuss the importance of timely and effective feedback, and specifically our Airman Comprehensive Assessment (ACA) and Enlisted Performance Report (EPR) system. As many of you know, EPRs for drill status guardsmen (to include our federal technicians) is a relatively new requirement. EPRs for that batch of personnel kicked off approximately two and a half years ago. Master Sergeant EPRs for DSGs closed out in September of 2015. The rest our our ranks have phased in and will finish up with Chief Master Sergeants closing out this May. EPRs are nothing new for our AGR staff and active counterparts, however the system and all forms were completely redesigned over the past three years. The ACA is a relatively new term for performance feedback. ACAs were phased in similarly over the past two plus years. Mechanically it is a relatively simple system the initial ACA is used to set expectations between the supervisor and the ratee. The midterm ACA is used to facilitate two way conversation and let the ratee know how they are performing with regards to the expectations set during the initial. Finally, the EPR lets the ratee know why they did or did not meet or exceed expectations set during the ACA. From the AFI, the purpose is to establish performance standards and expectations for ratees, meaningful feedback on how well the ratee is meeting those expectations, and direction on how to better meet those established standards and expectations.and to provide a reliable, long-term, cumulative record of performance and promotion potential based on that performance. The reference for the enlisted evaluation system, to include both ACAs and EPRs is AFI 36-2406. I encourage all of you to become familiar with the requirements both for your rank, and your Airman s rank as well. I also encourage all Airmen to take an active part in the process as a ratee. Make sure you are clear on expectations and how to meet or exceed them. There should be no surprises when you see your EPR. For quick reference, visit the 115th Fighter Wing App for the EPR schedule. Thank you for all you continue to do and have a great weekend! Chief McKay Did you know? By Tech. Sgt. Libby Schmiedlin Next month, April 28-30, is the annual WNGEA/ WINGA conference being held in Elkhart Lake at the Osthoff Resort. Attending the conference is a great opportunity to learn more about these organizations and all we do for WI guard members! The conference also allows you to meet and network with guard members from across the state. If you are free I highly recommend attending this year s conference. Visit the 115th Fighter Wing App for more info. Add t questions? Contact Libby. Status of discipline Blotter If you re viewing the Truax Ticker from your home computer, you won t be able to reach this information. But please, take time to look through this when you re on a network computer. We all want to know what the expectations are and how we are meeting those expectations. It is critically important that we as supervisors take the time to let our Airmen know what is expected of them and how they are doing. Sometimes we don t take that time Simply place this link into your browser to view this quarter s Status of Discipline Blotter. libby.schmiedlin@dva.wisconsin.gov \\115fw-fs-04\FW\FW_SOD

ID Cards/DEERS The 115th Fighter Wing Force Support Squadron s Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) /RAPIDS office can issue ID cards for members of all branches of service - active, reserve, guard, retirees and dependents - as well as Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors. Two valid forms of identification, one of which must contain a photo, are required for issuance of an ID card. Examples of valid identification are: a military/civilian/contractor/dependent ID card; a driver s license; a state-issued identification card; a Social Security card, a birth certificate or a passport. A full list of acceptable forms of identification can be found online at http://cac.mil/docs/list_of_acceptable_documents.pdf or through the 115th Fighter Wing DEERS office. **Please note: All forms of identification used to fulfill the requirement for the issuance of any ID card must be current (unexpired) to be considered valid. ** Dependents obtaining ID cards must be accompanied by their sponsor, or a valid power-of-attorney document must be supplied. The sponsor also may sign a Department of Defense Form 1172-2 (Application for Identification Card/DEERS Enrollment) in advance, either in person at any DEERs locations or they may download the DD Form 1172 and sign with a notary. Military dependents who are age 18 or older now need TWO unexpired forms of ID to receive a new ID card. Active-duty service members and service members reaching retirement age also must have official orders/contracts with them when obtaining ID cards. Updating marital status or dependent in DEERS requires presentation of original documents (birth/death certificates, Social Security cards, marriage/divorce certificate, and valid driver s license. Before visiting the office, please see your unit s orderly room, or call regarding any questions and to verify which documents will be required to accomplish any changes to DEERS. Contact Information: ID Card/DEERS Section is located in building 500. ID Cards are issued by appointment only, every Tuesday and over the Regularly Scheduled Drill (RSD). (We tend to be booked one week out for Tuesdays and one month out for RSD). Appointments can be made by calling 608-245-4468. In the event we are unable to answer your call as we may be with another customer, please leave a message. We do check voicemail periodically through the day and will return phone calls the same day received unless you called on a day that we are closed. The office may also be closed at other times for work-related incidents.
