GENERAL OVERVIEW: The Gladstone Area School District (owner) is accepting bids for Wireless Access Points and Data Wiring to provide additional Wifi capacity within the district buildings: Campus 1 Campus 2 Campus 3 High School 2100 HWY M-35 Jr High School 300 S 10 th St Cameron Elementary 803 29 th St Athletics/Activity Office 2100 HWY M-35 Public & School Library 300 S 10 th St J.T. Jones Elementary 400 S 10 th St Business/Supt. Office 400 S 10 th St -All prices shall include shipping (if applicable), which will be indicated as a separate line within the bid. -All sealed bids will include an electronic version (cd, usb, or confirmed email), and two paper copies. -All pricing shall be valid for at least 120 days from the due date of the bid -Pending overall project cost, the owner may choose to reduce the scope (such as eliminating the project at one campus, and/or reducing AP and/or locations within each campus). -The number of data runs will vary from the number of new APs since existing MR16 APs will be utilized. -Vendors will be selected based on overall bid, and shall be able to scale their proposal accordingly. Two sections of the project are to be bid individually. Bids will be awarded individually for each section. SECTION 1: Meraki Access Points & Licensing: The Gladstone Area Schools has standardized on Meraki, as that is the preferred manufacturer. 1a. - A. (75) Meraki MR42 Access Points equivalent or better o Including all standard mounting hardware and brackets for ceiling tile rail and cradle - B. (75) Meraki Enterprise Cloud Controller five year enterprise licenses (start after 6/30/16). 1b. - The vendor will include a separate line for configuring each new AP with the specified name to include the Building & Room Number (example: Jones 123), IP address (range to be provided by district), and configure the Meraki dashboard to represent the physical placement of the AP within its appropriate location. A label will be affixed to the bottom (inward side) of each AP stating its specific name and last octet of the ip address. Example: Jones.r123.080. 1c. - The vendor will include a separate line item for labor required for physically mounting each AP after the wiring to each location is complete (Section 2). 1d. - The vendor will provide a separate line for physically removing and relocating existing MR16 APs to locations specified within building maps (including the renaming, and moving the APs in the Meraki Dashboard to correspond with the APs new location). The district will provide POE Network Switch capacity on specific vlan ports in each network rack. Gladstone Area Schools is applying for Universal Service Fund monies for this section. SECTION 2: Data Wiring: 2a. - Vendor will Furnish and Install Category 6 (23 gauge) data cabling (Monoprice 108107 equivalent or better) non-plenum, from closest and/or most appropriate MDF/IDF rack, to the location of the access point. Cables will be run within existing data cable conduit and/or wire trays where possible; unless it is determined the total length of the data run will exceed 300 if the logical path of trays is followed (contact technology staff to clarify any variations). - Vendor will Furnish and Install Complete Category 6 (2-post rack mount) punch down patch panels, Cat 6 patch panel components, Cat 6 punch down blocks, and Cat 6 terminating ends. Patch cables (C2G 27181 equivalent or better) to connect to the switch, and Cat 6 patch cables for final ceiling end AP connections. - All classroom termination points will be located in the most center point of the ceiling of each room specified within the building map (unless otherwise noted as corner, side or offset). - Terminations above the dropped ceiling (or other hidden from normal view location) will be terminated with a Cat 6 punch down keystone jack, and outfitted with a 3 foot Cat 6 patch cable (C2G 27181 equivalent or better). - In areas not hidden from normal view (wall mount, or areas where there is not dropped ceiling that requires the drop in the middle of the room), where the AP when mounted, will not cover the cable access hole, white wire mold/raceway is required. - Labels indicating the building/room number/run number are required (JrH.123.A) on each cable and associated punch down label (also note exact label syntax on building map). - All connections must be tested and certified (documentation provided) from the patch cable at the switch, through all hops to and through the patch cable on the terminating end. 2b. - Additional 2 nd Cable: The vendor shall also specify a separate (labor and cabling) line for running an additional identical Cat 6 cable per the specs from/to the same location within the classrooms. This 2 nd cable need not be terminated, punched down, or tested cable only. Labels must be applied to each cable end (building-room number-run number (JrH.123.B)). 2c. - The vendor will include a separate line item for labor required for physically mounting and connecting the patch cable to each AP after the APs are labeled and configured (Section 1).
