PROJECT REPORT ON CARDIAC INTERVENTIONAL SURGERY CAMP INTRODUCTION In this country where the increasing adolescent population also means an upsurge in their problems, works an NGO, Unfold, with its motive to address issues and enhance the mental, psychological and physical well being of the youth of this country. Established in 2013, Unfold has its head office in sector 14, Faridabad. 3 (Three) free pediatric cardiac interventional surgery camp was organized by team Unfold for underprivileged children. These children were the ones who were born with congenital (by birth) defects and were unable to lead a normal productive life besides lagging behind in physical & mental growth parameters. Cardiac Interventional surgery is a precise and highly skilled & technically challenging surgery which has to be done by an expert and in which devices threaded through blood vessels are used to plug the defects of the heart without doing open surgery through an incision. This saves the patient from potential risks and complications of an open surgery, reduces anesthesia time and hospital stay, avoids infection, need for blood transfusion and reduces cost.
