MOUNTAIN CONSULTING INC. 2018 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Vice Mountain Consulting, Inc. (MC) is an African American, woman-owned professional services firm founded in 2003. MC provides engineering, construction, land survey, and technical services to both public and private clients, as well as non-profit organizations. We are registered Professional Engineers in Delaware and Maryland and have a network of Professional Land Surveyors licensed throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Mountain Consulting Inc. is awarding a scholarship to an underrepresented minority from the State of Delaware who has been accepted into a 4-year accredited college/university with plans to pursue a degree in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Persons of African or African American high school seniors or incoming first year college freshman are eligible to apply. CRITERIA: 1. Must be of African or African American descent. 2. Available to high school seniors or other incoming first year college freshman from the State of Delaware. 3. Candidate must have a 3.0 or higher GPA. 4. Candidate shall be accepted into an accredited 4 year college/university and have plans to pursue a degree in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics. 5. Candidate shall submit the following items to arrive at the designated destination no later than 12:30p.m. Local time on April 30 of the year of graduation. - Application - Official High School Transcript - Copy of College Acceptance letter - One reference letter, preferably typed, from a high school counselor, teacher, or advisor. The letter of reference should be sealed in a standard envelope with the author s signature across the flap of the envelope. The letter has to include the name, address, and telephone number of the reference.
Vice AWARD: 1. The amount of the award is $1000. 2. The award is a one-time presentation. 3. The successful candidate shall be notified by May 15 of the graduation year. Notification shall be in the form of an email, phone call, or letter to the candidate. Unsuccessful candidates shall not be notified. 4. All applications shall be considered, however, MC reserves the right to reject any and all candidates for any reason. 5. The management staff of Mountain Consulting will determine the recipient of the scholarship based on criteria selected by the MCI scholarship committee. PRESENTATION: The award, in its full amount, shall be presented to the college/university in the name of the candidate.
