Lambda Phi Omega Chapter is one of the sorority s 1,012 chapters. Our mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of Service to All Mankind". As part of our commitment to higher education, Lambda Phi Omega Chapter annually awards scholarships to deserving Northeast Ohio high school seniors. We are now accepting applications for our 2018 scholarships. In order to qualify for a scholarship, the student must meet the following criteria: 1. Reside in and attend a high school located in Northeast Ohio. 2. Be a high school senior who will graduate by August 15, 2018. 3. Have a minimum 2.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average. 4. Be accepted and enrolled in a College, University or Post-Secondary Institution by August 31, 2018. The application package consists of a Scholarship Application Checklist and a two- page Scholarship Application. Applicants must also write an essay which includes a personal profile and discussion of why college is important to them. We are asking your assistance in identifying students who meet the above criteria and are in need of financial assistance to achieve their goal of a higher education. We hope you will encourage and assist them in applying for our scholarship. Please make sure students thoroughly read and understand the requirements. Please make additional copies as needed for distribution. Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2018. Select students will be invited for a personal interview during the month of May, 2018. Selected recipients will be asked to attend a Scholarship Reception in June 2, 2018 at which time they will read their essays. ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INCORPORATED LAMBDA PHI OMEGA CHAPTER 2018 Scholarship Criteria 1. Applicant must be a High School Senior who resides in and attends a Northeast Ohio High School. 2. Applicant must be graduating by August 15, 2018. 3. Application must be completed and postmarked by March 31, 2018. 4. Late applications will not be considered. NO EXCEPTIONS. 5. Select applicants will be invited to participate in a face-to-face interview in May, 2018. 6. Each recipient will be asked to read their essay at the Scholarship Reception scheduled for June 2, 2018. 7. Applicant must provide proof of enrollment at a specific College, University or Post-Secondary Institution at the time the award is made as verified by: * Letter of acceptance * Class schedule (needed at the time the scholarship award is issued) 8. A meeting will be scheduled to issue the scholarship checks. 9.
