ADDRESS OF THE PRESIDENT OF APISLAVIA Under the initiative of the Bulgarian Apicultural Union, in June 1910 the All- Slavic Apicultural Union was established in Sofia with the participation of the apicultural organisations of Bulgaria, Russia, Serbia, Czechia, Poland, Silesia, Galicia, Croatia, Slovenia, Dalmatia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Moravia and Montenegro. Later that organisation developed into APISLAVIA Union of the apiculturists of the Slavic and river Danube countries, and now it is already Apislavia Federation of the European Apicultural Organisations. At present, the national apicultural organisations of Bulgaria, Belorussia, Hungary, Greece, Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Rumania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Czechia and the Apimondia Institute in Bucharest are among its members. The main purposes of Apislavia are to cooperate for the complex development of apiculture: - Assistance to improve the quality of apicultural products and increasing the control at their market realisation. - Coordination of the healthcare for the bee families. - Coordination of the APITHERAPY branch. - Perfection and development of selection and community work. - Improving the direct contacts and experience exchange between apiculturists. As is well-known, the European Union is the largest honey market in the world. To export honey to the EU, the exporting countries need to apply the legislation and control methods as per the EU standards. Therefore, our purpose and goal as a non-profit organisation of the apiculturists, over 80% of which are from the EU Member States and Candidate Countries, is to work in such a way that our say is heard in Bruxelles. For that, the management of Apislavia decided to invite members of the European Parliament to take part in the 18th Jubilee Congress of Apislavia during the discussion of some major issues, such as: - Problems of the apiculture in Europe and suggestions for its stimulation and development. - Ways to improve the control and increase the quality of the apicultural products on the European markets. Our purpose is to convince our countries governments that apiculture is related not only to the production of irreplaceable food products, but also that without honey bees, the agricultural harvests will decrease significantly and the ecological balance will suffer. It is not by chance that the great Albert Einstein said: If, for some reason, the bees on earth are destroyed, the entire humanity will perish in no more than four years. We expect that this Congress will be a meeting of apiculturists and directors of apicultural organisations from Europe with members of the European Parliament, representatives of COPA-GOGECA and of the Ministry of Agriculture and Foods of Bulgaria, where we may discuss the problems of apiculture development in Europe. The APPLICANT shall not transfer the entire or part of the rented space to third parties without the permission of NBTE. In case of cancelation not later than a month previous to the Expo date, the APPLICANT shall owe 30% of the paid amount, and in case of cancelation later than a month previous - 30% of the total participation amount. In case of cancelation of the participation after the deadline for application forwarding 10th August 2010, the APPLICANT shall owe a penalty at the amount of the total sum as per the APPLICATION-AGREEMENT filed in by him.
