AFP ~ Greater Houston Chapter Education Scholarships These scholarships are funded by Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Houston Chapter. Scholarships are provided to extend participation in professional education courses, and to help individuals serving not-for-profit organizations develop their knowledge and skill in fund raising. Opportunities are available to all members we have provided a grid for you to understand the level of experience we believe is required for each scholarship: N = New professional, 0 4 years in the profession; M = Mid-level professional, 5 10 years in the profession; S = Seasoned professional, 11+ years in the profession. Scholarships are given out on a rolling basis during a calendar year, with November 16 th being the last day of the year to apply for monies during that fiscal period. Basically you have a greater chance of receiving a scholarship the earlier in the year you apply, since once the allotment of monies are awarded the budget will not replenish until the next calendar year. AFP Membership Scholarships (N, M, S opportunity) Up to five (5) membership scholarships will be awarded (up to $250/each) to cover the majority of costs associated with membership. This will financially assist with your one-year membership to the AFP International association as well as to the local AFP-Houston chapter. The Association of Fundraising Professionals exists to foster the development and growth of fundraising professionals and the profession. Being a member provides you a gateway into the Associations resources. ** This is the one scholarship that you do not need to be a current AFP member to apply** Deadline: November 16, 2010 Requirement of awardee: AFP Member will volunteer and join a committee of their choice. This may be a standing committee or ad hoc. 2010 International Conference Scholarship (N, M, S opportunity) Four (4) International Scholarships awarded in the amount of $1,000 each; one individual per organization. An AFP International conference experience offers not only the broad spectrum and inspirational experience but the nuts-and-bolts, hands-on tactics to successfully achieve success in this field of fundraising. **To qualify, a candidate must have never received an AFP International Conference Scholarship from the Houston Chapter. Excludes the Chamberlain Scholarship.**
