Community Impact Altamaha And the building continues. The Altamaha Ambassadors chapter in partnership with Open Doors, Inc., continues to change the lives of so many in their community thru the ramp projects. The chapter has provided 29 ramps for the citizens in need of a safe entry and exit out of their homes. Thank you so much Altamaha for continuing to shine a light of hope in your community.

Community Impact Metro South Members of the Metro South Ambassadors joined the Metro South Citizens of Georgia Power chapter for the Fayette County Relay for Life event on May 11. The group sold funnel cakes, fried Oreos, and snow cones. Thanks to Cindy Bachelder, Metro South Team Captain, for organizing the team.

Community Impact Altamaha The Altamaha chapter has been assisting their local Habitat for Humanity with one of the job sites in their area. Thanks to the many volunteers who have given their time to help a local resident have a place they can call home. Chapter Happenings Metro East Mickey Gazaway of Pike s Nursery presented a very informative program for the Metro East chapters on home gardening. Gazaway, who is also a Master Gardener, provided tips on what plants work best in sunny areas and in full shade. She also provided information on which flowers are the best to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. It was a very interesting program for all in attendance.

Chapter Happenings Augusta With the weather getting warmer, you will start to hear the phrase, Let s go on a picnic. The August chapter did just that for their May meeting. President Charles Cason, along with chapter member Wendell Amerson and other volunteers, helped grill and prepare the lunch for the big crowd in attendance. After eating, most everyone participated in a rousing Bean Bag Baseball tournament. There was a lot of cheering and enthusiasm from the crowd as the tournament went on. Ambassadors State President, Bob Davidson, and his wife Evelyn were in attendance. It was a great day of food, FUN, and fellowship. Thanks to all of the volunteers who made the day such a great success.

Chapter Happenings Sinclair-Oconee Speaking of picnics, the shelter at Wallace Dam on Lake Oconee was the location for Sinclair-Oconee chapter s annual picnic in May. President Jo Anne Clark held a brief business meeting and then a wonderful BBQ lunch was served to the 75 attendees. State President, Bob Davidson, and his wife Evelyn were also in attendance. A great time was had by all.

Chapter Happenings Metro South Rounding out our picnics around the state this month was Metro South. The weather looked ominous that morning, but the sun finally came out and the crowd enjoyed a wonderful BBQ lunch under the shelter. After the meal, chapter members participated in a bean bag toss competition and a paper airplane longest flight competition. Thanks to all who put the event together. 2018 Ambassador Statewide Service Hours 70,000 64,955 60,065 60,000 55,171 60,221 58,922 62,256 50,000 40,000 30,000 20,000 20,819 10,000 0 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018
