March 2018 RETREAT IS COMING! Oh yes, it is that wonderful time of year when Ambassadors from all over the state gather at Epworth by the Sea on beautiful Saint Simons Island for a week of fun, food and fellowship. The event begins on Tuesday, April 17 and ends on Friday, April 20. Whether it s your first time or your 25 th time, we guarantee you will have a lot of fun. With two excursions, horseshoe tournament, bean bag toss tournament, the Ellie Room, nightly entertainment and hundreds of your closest Ambassador friends, there s never a dull moment. Registration ends March 31 st. If you are planning on attending, there s still time to get your form in. See your chapter President or contact the State Office for a packet.

Community Impact Altamaha The Altamaha chapter continues changing their community for residents in need of easy access both in and out of their homes by providing ramps. The crews have built seventeen ramps already this year. Thanks Altamaha and Open Doors, Inc. for all you are doing in and around your community each and every day!

Community Impact Columbus The Columbus Ambassadors prepared and served the Valentine Spaghetti Banquet for Girls, Inc. At least 30 members assisted with the event this year. The chapter has helped with this dinner for over 30 years. Thanks Columbus! Altamaha The Altamaha chapter volunteered recently at a Habitat for Humanity build in their area. Thanks Altamaha for helping to provide housing for a family in need.

Community Impact Athens The Athens chapter has adopted a new project for 2018, Launched in 2008, HeroBox is a 501c3 organization that supports deployed, injured, aging, and homeless veterans. Their mission is to insure that every American hero receives the physical and moral support they deserve. Chapter members brought in items like tuna packages, instant noodles/soup, body lotion, chap stick, pens and many other items listed on the information provided from HeroBox and were able to fill twelve boxes for the troops. Thanks Athens for providing some comforts of home to our troops both here and overseas!

Community Impact Through Partnerships Metro West The Metro West Chapter Citizens of Georgia Power, along with the Metro West Ambassadors, assembled over 60 Family Easter baskets filled with toiletries and candies that were donated to Sweetwater Mission in Austell GA, a nonprofit organization who offers food and clothing assistance to low-income residents of Cobb and Douglas counties. These baskets were not the traditional Easter baskets. They included medium and large laundry baskets, buckets, wrapped Easter baskets, which were then filled with gift bags/cups, full of candy, plus needed household toiletry items. One thing for sure is there was no right or wrong way of assembling these Family Easter Baskets. Thank you to our members who assisted in assembling these baskets Altamaha Members of the Altamaha Ambassadors joined the Vidalia Citizens of Georgia Power chapter for the Vidalia Clean-Up Saturday event. Thanks to all who participated!
