Amicae to Zeta Spotlight for the Electrifying Eastern Region Soror Edna Caldwell Soror Caldwell is a professional women who do not have the four year degree should all recognize this wonderful Auxiliary, the Amicae (under the umbrella of "The Best" Sorority of them all, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.) mainly because Zeta is the only sorority that has one. I spent four fabulous years (1992-1995, when I finished my degree) as an Amicae, where we were on the constant move for the Auxiliary and our Sponsoring Chapter, Zeta Chi Zeta of Goldsboro. When a line was formed, there was no hesitation - I was more than ready and am a proud, blessed "Zeta". My first stop in June was at the Alsip Amicae Summer Roundup where Zeta, Amicae and other invitees gathered for a fun-filled day of food, music & laughter. Then in July, it was off to the Boulé where the 1st Amicae Legacy Club was established with Legacy members getting a pin, certificate and their names in history. I served as the Capital Campaign Raffle Chair and the Amicae raised enough to donate $1500.00 to the Grand at the Boulé. Good times!! After the summer, the first order of business in September was the Great Lakes Regional Executive Board meeting in Rosemont, IL. Following the meeting was Amicae Sponsors Training, where 27 Sorors throughout the Region were certified. Then, the first stop in October was to Springfield, the State Capital of the Illinois, for the State Leadership Conference where I welcomed a new State Coordinator, Soror/Friend Elouise Jones from Waukegan, IL. I am very proud to have been appointed the State of Ohio Amicae Coordinator role for the past four (4) years. My goals for the Amicae within the State of Ohio Organization is to continue with working w i t h i n t h e v a r i o u s communities incorporating Z- Hope projects, especially the most recent Adopt a School, and Eldercare, so we can build an awareness of the Amicae and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and help someone along the way. I also want to continue to grow in membership and continue to build the relationships between the Amicae and Zetas. I have the pleasure of working with some great women who have the principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. dear to their hearts. The Amicae are currently led by Zeta Amica President Betty Connors. FROM LIGHT BLUE TO ROYAL BLUE MRS. LYNNETTE T. WILLIAMS The Pride of the Alsip This jazzy grandma was introduced to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. when her oldest daughter became a Zeta. Upon excepting an award for her daughter from her sorority, two ladies Mrs. Thelma Murray-Skyes and Mrs. Arletha Hardin approached her and told her about the Zeta Amicae Auxiliary. The rest is history; She became a member of the Xi Mu Zeta Amicae Auxiliary in 1995; in 2005 she became a member of the Tau Psi Zeta Amicae Auxiliary of Alsip and has held several positions. Lynnette graduated from Copernicus Elementary School in 1958 and Englewood HS in 1962. Later she attended Wilson Jr. College (now Kennedy-King) and Harold Washington City College. She has been married for over 40 years to her husband Percy; They have 2 daughters, Yolanda Academic Advisor at Eastern IL Univ active member of Tau Psi Zeta Chapter and LaTanya LPN, 2 grandchildren Isis and Israel. Lynnette was employed by the Chicago Board of Education for 25 years, 2 years as a Teacher Assistance and 23 as a Vision & Hearing Tech., she retired in Feb. of 2004. She graduated from Chicago State University with a board of governors major and a minor in African-American studies on December 19, 2013. Though hard to leave the Amicae, she fulfilled her dream and was initiated into Tau Psi Zeta Chapter on 11/15/2014!! We are extremely PROUD to now call you Soror!! Greetings from Sigma Alpha Zeta Chapter-Amicae Auxiliary, Currently, the Sigma Alpha Zeta Amicae Auxiliary is in its re-building phase. In October of 2014, we hosted a wonderful open house where we had five enthusiastic guests interested in joining the Blue and White Family. Going forward we have our intake process planned along with formally chartering our Amicae Auxiliary. One of our lovely former members, Jasmine Groce, transitioned from Amicae to Zeta after her enrollment at Mount Mary College. She was a very active member working with the 5K Aids Walk, Food for Families Drive, Hallelujah Harvest and Homeless Children of MPS. She is also a past Vice President. I am the Amicae Advisor for Sigma Alpha Zeta Chapter along with Teresa Smith. I am also the current Wisconsin State Amicae Coordinator. In my fourteen years as a Zeta, I have served as Tamias Grammeteus and worked on numerous community service projects. And finally, I would like to add that I am very proud of the dedication and hard work of our current Amicae Auxiliary members. Yours truly, Sharon McGhee Dailey 29

Zeta Amicae of Lafayette, LA Every year in the month of November along with our sponsoring chapter of NU EPLISON ZETA Chapter, we put on a Thanksgiving Basket giveaway to the elderly. This is one way where we give back to the community. Not only does our sponsoring chapter assist in collecting and donating items for the baskets, they also assist in the preparation process of making the baskets. Our first year in 2012 we gave away 4 baskets. Last year in 2013 we gave away 8 baskets. And this year our goal is 12 baskets. As you can see we try and double from previous years. We are a very small number in members, but we do give in quantity Zeta Amicae of Texarkana, TX Zeta Amicae of Texarkana, Texas celebrated their 40 th Anniversary in October, 2014.
