March 2015 Join Us In June For F 46 's 3rd Nine, Wine and Fine Arts Event It's time to tee off or taste some tannins as excitement builds for the foundation's third annual Nine, Wine & Fine Arts event on Saturday, June 6th, 2015. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy 9 holes of golf with fun games and prizes at Grayslake s very own Brae Loch Golf Club. If you aren t a golfer, then join us in the evening for our silent and live auctions and a chance to sample wines, beer, food and desserts from some of our premiere area restaurants. F 46 Awards Multiple Grants for District 46 Staff and Schools Raz Kids : This computer-based reading program will put hundreds of books into the hands of first graders at Woodview School with this $300 grant. Frederick Robot : The Science Olympiad coaching team received $500 to purchase a robot to be used during the program's season. It will then be given to Frederick science teachers, giving all Frederick students access to the exciting, growing field of robotics. Heart rate monitors for GMS PE students : With the help of this $1000 grant, 48 heart rate monitors were purchased for GMS students to use in their physical education class. Standing desks at GMS : Special Education teachers at GMS purchased four standing desks with a $1000 grant to benefit students whose ability to focus and attend for extended time periods is enhanced by the flexibility of being able to work while standing. Mystery of the Miniatures book program : A $1000 grant was given to Park Schools to purchase 100 copies of The Sixty-Eight Rooms, written by local author Marianne Malone, and to bring her to the school for an author visit. K-4 Science Nights : A $500 grant was awarded to the GMS Science Olympiad coaching team to present interactive science presentations at Avon, Meadowview, Prairieview, and Woodview. 2015 Major Saver Cards Available Soon The foundation is once again offering Major Saver cards.
