EDINBURGH COLLEGE Secondary Scholarship Program Years 7-9, 2019 2021 Edinburgh College is an open enrolment Co-educational College offering Early Learning through to Year 12. This document outlines the various scholarships that may be available to families whose children are moving up into the senior class of Year 7, 8 & 9. Our scholarship program recognises a range of student talents, which are consistent with our belief in the wholistic development of each student. In addition to academic development we recognise and seek to enhance each student s spiritual, physical and social development. The scholarships available from Edinburgh College include: Academic, Leadership, Creativity, Service, Sport, Music and Technology. Academic Scholarships are awarded to students who excel academically. Leadership Scholarships recognise students who exhibit a comprehensive range of leadership skills and who continue to utilise those skills to make a difference within the community. Creativity Scholarships affirms our belief in a Creator and recognises student s artistic and creative talents. Service Scholarships affirm our belief that acts of service represent a powerful means by which to aid those in need. This scholarship recognises extended, personal involvement in community service. Sport Scholarships are awarded in recognition of students who excel in sport. Music Scholarships are awarded to students who excel in musical performance. Technology Scholarships recognise students who exhibit outstanding skill in the use of technology for a productive and altruistic purpose. Note: Applications for a scholarship are open to the following students: 1. Current Edinburgh College students from our Year 6 class moving through into Year 7 for 2019 2. New students to Edinburgh College enrolling into our Year 7 for 2019 What level of financial support do the Scholarships offer? Scholarships represent a 50% discount on the tuition fees for each year that a student remains eligible. The scholarship payment is made from the Bursar s office on a term-by-term basis for the period of eligibility. It cannot be used as a credit account to cover non-tuition expenses nor for cash advances. Students are awarded a scholarship for three (3) years (ie 2019/2021) In order to receive the full value of the scholarships students are required to maintain satisfactory academic progress and behaviour. This condition will be determined at a duly constituted meeting of the Edinburgh College Administration Committee. Appeals in relation to adverse determinations from the Administration Committee are to be addressed to the Principal.
How to Apply 1. Complete a Student Enrolment Application Form available from Administration or the website. 2. Read the Scholarship Guidelines 3. Complete and return the Scholarship Application by the due date. 4. Attach all relevant information, as the Application will only be considered if it is complete. For 2019 (ie applications for a 2019-2021 scholarship) Scholarship Applications close at: 3pm on Monday, 18th June 2018.
