MARKET INSIGHTS At IE Business School, we are proud of our achievements. Our dedicated team of industry experts have strengthened the core career content in the program curricula, continued to provide sector specific career advice for every student and attracted more interest from international recruiters than ever before. As a result, 87% of our 2016 graduates secured a job within three months of graduation, most notably in the technology industry. In keeping with trends, approximately 32% of the class joined companies in consulting and financial services. However, we saw a dramatic upsurge in placements in the technology industry that accounts for 20% of the students, as innovations in the sector consistently generate new roles and functions. More students are securing work as marketing/sales professionals than in previous years with 29% landing jobs in this area, while a growing number accepted a position in consulting (13%) and finance/ accounting (21%). Regarding regions, 33% of our graduates decided to work in Europe and 31% settled in Latin America. We also saw an increase in placements throughout North America and Asia. In terms of career changes, 34% of our students chose to work in a different job function, 16% moved to a new country and 12% decided on both a change in function and country. These new graduates joined the ranks of more than 65,000 IE alumni based in more than 167 countries in both the public and private sectors. This continued success demonstrates our commitment to limiting time away from the workplace while providing a complete International MBA experience far beyond just academic achievement. It s our focus on real-world projects and leadership initiatives that attracts major companies such as Microsoft, Amazon and Deloitte: industry giants that value candidates with intrapreneurial skills and the power to change a company from the inside. We can t wait to build on this success as we dig deeper to bring out our students fullest potential and create value for all types of industries and communities across the globe. The role of Talent & Careers was more than important, it was crucial. Both, GSK, the company I work for, and Johnson & Johnson, where I did my summer internship, were companies that I met because of their Company Presentations at IE. But the help of Talent & Careers with my objectives goes beyond that, my Career Advisor was really important to help in soulsearching and defining a career strategy and improving my CV. The Director of Career Education also organized several interesting Career Fitness events and workshops that helped me to create a good elevator pitch, improve my LinkedIn profile, learn how to properly network and practice interviewst. International MBA / 9 II. CAREER CHOICES The diverse and industrial nature of our student body is echoed by the plethora of companies, across a variety industries that they find job placements in. Multinationals, SMEs, private or public sector businesses our Talent & Careers service is always on its toes as we strive to match a large range of recruiters with the perfect candidate from our pool of qualified professionals. Growing trends in the perpetually self-rejuvenating technological industry, with developments in big data, augmented reality, and cloud migration, have resulted in it being the most popular industry with 20% of our students getting placements. Financial services and consulting the solid backbones of business still draw a sizable crowd claiming 18% and 14% respectively, with interest in consumer goods just behind at 13%. Although showing a drop in popularity from last year, marketing and sales roles are still top of the table with 29% of our student body finding their footing there. Consulting roles have dropped slightly to 13% but the real climber is growth in finance which has risen from 16% last year to a healthy 21% this year. As a Business School with a far-reaching, cross-industry, international business vision, we are exceptionally pleased with the number of our students who have secured opportunities all around the world. With 33% in the EU, 31% in Latin America and the Caribbean, 11% in both North America and Asia, alongside representation in the Middle East, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, our global success is breathtaking. This success is a result of having strong and fruitful relationships with international recruiters, coupled with an evergrowing diverse class profile and a network of 29 IE representative offices on all continents. IV. POST MBA CAREER CHANGES We attract students who want to make a real change. Whether a change in their role or their region, our MBAs have international opportunity-creating qualifications. Although in some regions, such as Europe, visa regulations are making international positions more difficult to gain, the mix of networking and exposure received during our MBA greatly increases the potential to change. 34% STUDENTS WHO CHANGED FUNCTION 16% STUDENTS WHO CHANGED COUNTRY 12% STUDENTS WHO CHANGED FUNCTION & COUNTRY #ieimba #IECareers

International MBA / 13 The reason I say that my experience at IE was life changing is because it allowed me to make the most significant career change of all as I changed function, company, industry and geographical location after graduating. I moved from Finance at CIB (The Commercial International Bank of Egypt) in the Financial Service Industry to Sales & Licensing, at Microsoft, in the Technology Industry in the Gulf region. ( )I was invited to apply to Microsoft s MBA Mach Program maybe 3 months into my IMBA year via the Talent & Careers team along with many other IMBA candidates. Undoubtedly, I accepted. In late November, one month before graduation, I started my interview process with Microsoft and after some interviews I was accepted. AMR ABAZA International MBA 2016 Graduate
