If applicants believe they have adequate cmmunicatin skills but d nt fit int ne f these examples they must prvide supprting evidence Meets prfessinal health requirements (in line with GMC standards/ Gd Medical Practice) Pre-emplyment health screening 1 when evaluated is indicative, but may be carried ut at any time thrughut the selectin prcess 2 Time f appintment refers t the date at which the pst cmmences 3 The GMC intrduced a licence t practice in 2009. Any dctr wishing t practice in the UK after this date must be bth registered and hld a licence t practice at time f appintment. 4 Examples might include ARCP utcme 4 r failure t prgress after tw r mre failed RITA Es. Nt previusly released r remved frm a UK General Surgery Specialty training prgramme 8 Nt previusly resigned r relinquished a natinal training number fr General Surgery specialty training except under extrardinary circumstances irrespective f the length f time in the training prgramme. 9 Des nt already hld r eligible t hld an General Surgery CCT and is nt currently n the specialist register, r equivalent, in any ther EU member state Applicatin Cmpletin ALL sectins f applicatin frm cmpleted FULLY accrding t written guidelines Selectin Criteria Career Prgressin Essential Desirable When evaluated As abve Cmpletin f a year s General Surgery experience at CT/ST level by the time f appintment 2 Less than 4 years experience in General Surgery at CT/ST level (nt including fundatin mdules) Curses Attendance at relevant curses, e.g. ATLS, Basic Surgical Skills r equivalent, CCrISP 6 Any time perids specified in this persn specificatin refer t full time equivalent 7 General surgery as defined in the current curriculum includes upper GI, HPB, clrectal, transplant, breast, vascular, endcrine and remte and rural surgery 8 Applicatins will NOT be cnsidered if an ARCP Outcme 4 r RITA E.has been given at any pint in their General Surgery training prgramme. 9 Applicatins will nly be cnsidered if satisfactry prgress (ARCP Outcme1) at the time f resignatin/relinquishing the NTN has been demnstrated and there is a letter f supprt frm either the Pstgraduate Dean r Head f Schl in the Deanery in which they wrked which cnfirms this. Extrardinary circumstances may be defined as a demnstrated change in circumstances, which can be shwn t impact n the ability t train at that time and may include severe persnal illness r family caring respnsibility incmpatible with cntinuing t hld a NTN either thrugh sickness absence, as a LTFT trainee r in a perid ut f prgramme.
